You guys wish you had someone to root for like Cam. Someone who's been just as supportive of your school as you've been of them.
Auburn fans are genuinely happy to see a guy who brought the school their 1st NC in 50 years continue to have success and it makes people sick.

I Can see this. I think you would agree AU doesn't win that tile without Cam. They did have him and thats all that matters but my point being he was THE cog in that offense and games were won a lot of times with him taking over and basically wining games by himself.
With that yes, Auburn had longed for title for many years and also had to watch Bama win several in that time frame. He would be beloved for sure. Nothing wrong with that. I can absolutely see where Au fans would support him, no matter what.

Cam's a great QB and does some nice things. He also is brash, obnoxious, egotistical, and an opportunistic rule breaker. That being said, I like it when he gives the ball to the kids.

It's as simple as this. Auburn caught hell in 2010 and outside of 2013 we've had little to crow about. Of course we hold onto Cam and take vicarious joy in his accomplishments.
Outside of Bama, few SEC teams schools have anything to celebrate once their teams start tanking.
I mean could you imagine being a UGA fan and having to look to the Falcons, Hawks, or Braves for alternative sports happiness

I guess if you only have a national title to celebrate every 3rd generation that's the sort of thing fans of mediocre programs do.
