He was at a coaching clinic and was teaching other coaches about how players weren’t ready when some guys went down he wasn’t making excuses and was pointing this out as an example to get your players motivated to play even if they weren’t a starter

Nick was either high on drugs or maybe dementia
Blaming the loss on current players WR's not ready and throwing his backup CB's under the bus as well
Ripping Ruggs a former player

Getting your players motivated to play?
So he’s saying the back ups were not motivated? I’m confused
And that’s why they were not ready. It had nothing to do with lack of repetitions?

Your reading comprehension is poor OR you are posting what you wanted the article to read.
Coach Saban was saying to have those that weren’t starters ready to play. He had three backups that really weren’t ready that should have been.
On Ruggs, he was saying sometimes it may be difficult to be a true leader. Had there been a true leader with Ruggs and taken his keys when Ruggs had made a poor decision, a lot of lives would be different today.

I think it was a message about guys needing to continue to prepare as if they are going play even if they aren’t sure they are more so than excuses. But again, I know that doesn’t really work if you’re trying to make it about Saban blaming someone for the loss.

Alabama fans would eat white dog shite out of Coach Nick Saban’s hand if he told them it tasted good.

If you aren't motivated to play in the national championship, you're dead...no pulse

I harken back to the 60s and 70s when I used to watch the coaches' shows on Sunday. I remember Bear Bryant all the time pointing out a mistake by one of his players, but always making it a point to blame himself because he didn't coach the player up as he should have. But that's ok, maybe Saban is showing a few chinks in his armor for Kirby to exploit in the future. HBTD.

Seems like a melting alter.

So it was a “here is where I failed” admission from him? Or was it an excuse as it sounded like one when he said “we lost because..” and went in to throw his CBs under the bus.

I think you missed it too. They were plenty motivated to play. They werent motivated to get themselves ready to play when they werent in an immediate position to get playing time.

I heard it and I know what I heard. It was a coaching clinic alright. A clinic on how to whine like a spoiled brat when your team gets it’s face kicked in.

i would like to watch a video of the speech honestly…can’t trust how the media pulls quotes to maximize controversy by removing critical context.
and dipshit fans who don’t like a certain coach or player will always buy it hook, line, and sinker because it fits a narrative they want to believe about the player or coach.

He was making excuses period.. he was using it as a teaching moment; but also to make excuses!
And why has it been removed from video streams, if it was such an excellent teaching moment.
