Should I say it?
I think I will.
A Saban-coached team would never be ranked so low in penalties.
The worm has turned boys.
Now LSU’s opponents’ penalties are number one.
As they should be.
All the complainers can classily frick off in their own way.

somebody really needs to clarify the disconcerting signals rules, especially when it comes to pre snap shifts

You are obviously allowed to move/shift on the DL without penalty. I think the reason it gets flagged is because a ref (right or wrong, their judgement is sometimes spotty) thinks that someone has clapped or made a noise or somehow tried to trick the OL into false starting or snapping the ball.

I could've sworn that one of the calls in our USC the ref specifically stated the shift was why the flag was thrown, which confused the hell out of me

College football rankings for penalties per game for Alabama by year:
2024 - 128th - 8.9
2023 - 65th - 5.8
2022 - 129th - 8.3
2021 - 99th - 7.0
2020 - 62nd - 6.0
2019 - 120th - 7.6
2018 - 55th - 5.8
2017 - 38th - 5.2
2016 - 61st - 6.1
2015 - 70th - 6.2
2014 - 29th - 4.9
2013 - 39th - 5.1
2012 - 8th - 4.1
2011 - 3rd - 3.6
That's as far back as my source went with reliable stats. While Saban did have a team that was ranked lower in per game penalties, he never had a team with as many per game penalties.

The Tennessee/ Alabama was hard to watch at times due to the penalties. The announcers even said “This crew has thrown the most flags this year.” Maybe the SEC should look inward instead of putting out the BS press statements about their officiating?

Is that for whole season? If so can you check just SEC vs SEC games data?

Why isn't Texas #1 in both categories?

Only 8.6 against us? If the game was called right it would be doubled. We get shafted every game. And our penalties per game should be under 5. Just sayin

Mizzou has been paying off refs since the 5th down.

My understanding: pre-snap movements have to be “natural.” In other words, flailing hands around while shifting to try to get the OL to move, is a penalty.

Year 13 and we're still getting the pledge treatment from SEC refs

Jesus that means they’re committing like 80 penalties per game

It was, but if you watch the play the DE is flailing his arms around, clearly to draw movement. The ref said it was an unnatural move. Honestly, it was a bit weird. Looked like he was having a seizure.

The crazy part is they still missed a bunch of real ones.

Yep. SC 13, LSU 9
Coach Kelly has generally had a more disciplined team, but not this past week:
LSU had 11 penalties to Arkansas' 7 this past week.

If my quick math is right, Oklahoma has been the biggest beneficiary of calls in its favor, when comparing penalties to opponent penalties.
