Chavis has proven he is the best DC in the sec. Deal with it. Shut down JM twice and routinely fields a great defense without the talent Bama has on def. #1 sec defense this year with an offense that sucked balls

LSUs defense the last two years has been below their standards... I know the numbers may say otherwise, but the depth and talent up the middle hasn't been there. We could've scored 60 on LSU if Gus wanted... MSU took their foot of the peddle.

Not even close. He's Top 10, but not Top 3.
The 2013 LSU defense was an indicator of what he could do without top talent. Alabama hasn't had an elite corner since 2012 or more than one elite defensive back since 2011 yet still manages to field a Top 3 SEC Defense.

Chavis' scheme depends on two things.
1) Shutdown corners
2) A great MLB
We have had #1. We have been struggling with #2 since Kevin Minter left after 2012. Beckwith finally came on at MLB this season and it was like night and day for our defense.
The 2015 LSU defense will have #1 and #2, which means trouble for everyone else.
