I thought Arch leading the horns to a championship while winning the Heisman and going as the #1 NFL draft choice was already in the books? What's changed?

SEC’s Elite Status This Season
Top to Bottom, the SEC is still the better conference. Big 10 has been very top heavy.
When you stack the teams up, top to bottom, SEC wins majority of the head to heads.

This is about the elite, not bottom feeders.

Well, OSU did beat 2 SEC teams to win the national title.

You're new to Paul Finebaum I see. Every year for the last 30 years in the doldrums of late June to late July, when no college sports are going on...he literally has nothing to talk about. It's when the show turns into a mix of Jerry Springer and old school WCW professional wrestling where callers cut promos on each other like they're Arn Anderson.

That's when he throws rage bait out there to see how many will bite.
Looks like you bit.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has arguably been the top conference in college football since the mid-2000s.
What is arguable about this?

I would say Michigan is at the very least equal to LSU given that they beat the "national champions" on the road and beat the SEC number six in a bowl game in which a significant portion of their roster sat out.

Yeah…the B1G really policed the shite out of the Sandusky, Paterno, Pedo St deal.
Way to go.

I didn't follow that very closely, because once the virtue wolves started feeding, I knew there was little chance I was going to get the REAL story.

The fact that all non Bama SEC Bowl games, losses and wins were 90 percent Joke after 2009
And they all play three super weak, super-small non conference teams each year when everyone else plays two.
And when people were saying Texas was good, Texas beat Michigan, Ohio State, USC (the 2nd greatest team all time), LSU in bowl games and won two other bowl games noone cares about and 2 of their only 3 bowl losses came from Alabama in a national title game they woulda won if Colt McCoy didn't get hurt, and a Good Oregon team from 2000-2009

Michigan is definitely better than LSU in modern times
Its not even close when talking all time.

This is strange how even non-Texas fans have such a vivid recollection of an NC game that happened 17-18 years ago. Anybody born then would be graduating high school right now.
Texas was plowing the field at will on Bama, to the extent so many remember it. And then boom, that was it.
And that day the Saban dynasty was born.

Theyve only beat texas once under Saban when Texas had a starting QB

Sorry, Texas woulda won all three rather, if they had starting QB

I don't know what all that gibberish is, but let me keep it simple for you:
Since 2006 (mid-2000s), the SEC has won 13 of the 21 championships. These championships have been won by 5 different teams, with 4 of the 5 winning multiple championships.
The rest of the country has won 6 championships won by 4 different teams, only 2 of which won multiple championships.
Bama has more championships in that time frame than every non-SEC team combined.
Bama does not have more championships in that time frame than the rest of the SEC teams.
Again, I ask: "what is arguable about the SEC being the top conference in college football since the mid-2000s?"

So many of you just don’t get it. The SEC dominance of the previous 2 decades was all due to buying players. Sure, other teams like Ohio St, Clemson, and FSU bought some players but the SEC simply stopped following and worrying about the rules or enforcement and bought masses amount of players.
So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that now that all teams can buy players at a high percentage that the SEC is losing the games that count more than ever. The data is clear and will get even clearer over the next 5 and 10 years. Sure, Texas or UGA could win the Natty but so can a number of other teams in other conferences.
And no one in any sport cares about regular season losses as long as they make the playoffs. Ohio St losing to Michigan means absolutely nothing today. Just like UGA winning the SEC means nothing today.
