Here’s the thing, you would never be out of the game because he has a play for everything. In my mind, Kiffin is the best play-caller in college football and he can do it with great players and average players.

Not a word about recruiting, program building, or being fired on the tarmac. This is about taking 14 guys with an identical roster and judging what happens.

Ok
You got us!
Did you even read what he wrote about Harsin?

That’s some quality analysis. There are at least a dozen ranters who could’ve produced a better article in 5 minutes of research

I believe this OP was some lame attempt to take a shot at Harsin (because you clearly hold some kind of weird arse grudge) and you totally failed in your analysis

I just don’t know enough about him. It was a strange hire by Auburn. I want to see him in action in the SEC. But at least he has been a head coach for eight years. Maybe he should be higher on this list. I know he shouldn’t be any lower.

But many on here do! Wonder why is that? I guess you didn't see the way he coached at BSU. Why no other top football program went after him?

Glancing through that list, a couple of thoughts:

Saban at #1. Yep, no contest. If he knows the stakes entering it, you know he will be SO much more prepared than anyone else.

I would have Kiffin at #2, and I don't think he's the 2nd best coach. But he's got enough "frick it, let's try this" in him, that he could potentially take even Saban.

My #3 comes with a stipulation: I'd take Ed Orgeron, with the condition he has a good staff. O has zero game-day coaching skills, but he's probably the best motivator of the group. If the talent is equal, he should at least have his guys sky-high coming out of the gate.

He has a better win percentage and much more experience than Harry Potter.

This is a shite list and the writer admits that it's based on his feelings and not necessarily fact.

For instance, how would you rank Kirby above O when O is 2-0 vs Kirby and has won a title with less talent than Kirby?

I mean O has played Kirby x2 with "equal talent" right?

I don't know that Saban is even #1 with "equal talent."

His win loss record isn't much different than some of the other guys here before he started bringing in #1 classes every year at Alabama.

He definitely had average talent his first year at Alabama and went like 7-6.

Mullen had many chances to take MSU to the next level, he never did it. Trend continues at UF.
