I love when we play UF. Especially in the SECCG. An SECCG that isn't UF v. UA just isn't the same.

Why wouldn't LSU want to play UF every year? It's a great game to watch.
Exactly. And in reality, it's good for both teams. If you win, it's a great win, if you lose, you lost to a title contender. And in an increasingly shitty scheduling job done by the LSU AD, I like have that premier game on the schedule every year. It's going to be talked about.

For the same reason Alabama doesn't want to play Florida or Georgia. LSU wants to maximize its chance to win SEC/BCS championships. You do that by playing Tennessee, not Florida.
Ehh, it all comes in waves. Tennessee will be good again. Florida will have down years. It works out.

Your administration has not been silent in their desire to avoid playing Florida regularly.

Fla won't give up LSU with possibility of playing Bama every year

I could see this argument regarding Georgia and Florida. Tennessee is a glorified Arkansas in today's landscape.

Sadly, neither has ours.

I honestly don't think this is the case. I know everything is cyclical, but there is so much working against them that it's hard to see them being a serious contender going forward.

The main problem I have with a 9 game conference schedule is that UGA (and USC, UF, UK) has in OOC in-state rival that takes up another game automatically.
I think we would pretty much never see any other good OOC games for UGA with a 9 game conference schedule.

Maybe because they'd like to keep the team on the schedule that they've been playing for damn near 100 years?
I'm not sure how old you are, but UT hasn't always been this bad. They were running a train on the rest of the SEC back in the 90's. Well except for us of course.

In the last 3 yrs, Florida has gone 26-13. Arkansas has gone 25-13.

Arkansas was competing for the SEC West in 2010 and 2011. That's not a great example when you consider their official record in those two seasons was a combined 21-4. They probably would have been a threat again this past year if not for motorcyclegate.

And a lot of us thought the same thing about Bama until Saban.

If it could get it worked out, I think it would help even out the schedules. Like when UGA has 4 SEC home games, they play Tech at home, and likewise.

Bama has a lot more inherent advantages than Tenn does though. Even if they only get half the instate talent, it's still more (and probably better) talent than what UT is going to get each year from their own state.
UTs heydey (in the modern era) coincided with a down LSU, a down USC, and a relatively down Georgia. They were able to pull from NOLA, Southern California, and Atlanta to fill their roster. They aren't getting the top players from any of those areas now, and likely not any time soon.

There would just be very little schedule flexibility. Like it or not, schools will still want at least 2 cupcake wins on the schedule. LSU, Bama etc. would still be able to do that while scheduling a fun OOC opponent (a B1G school, for example). UGA won't. The OOC schedule will be really dry.
We're playing @Clemson this year. That game wouldn't happen with a 9 game conference schedule. Same with past games against Boise St., Arizona St, Colorado, Ok St, etc.

Alabama fans love it because they are currently challenged twice a year right now as opposed to 3 or 4 times.
Most LSU fans I know don't have a problem with keeping UF as our permanent opponent from the East. That said, it's ridiculous that LSU seems to play at least 2 of the top 3 SEC East teams every year, while Bama avoids all 3 of them.
Just curious....when was the last time Bama played UF and either UGA or USCe in the same regular season (not including the SECCG)?
