but Cale is one of the best recruiters in college football, maybe college football history.
Maybe Leach will hire him we need help recruiting. Mississippi is more tolerable of the N word I hear it about 40 times a day. Half from black folk, other half from white folk

When I moved from Texas to the real south, I was shocked when a barber used the n word. I heard it very rarely growing up, only in intimate settings, and only in jest. You might think I’m throwing shade, but I’m not. It’s just the truth.
(I’m not saying that’s true of all communities in Texas, but it was my experience in a small city/large town in central Texas.)

If I read then "N" word in a book does it make me a racist?

NO doubt...just look in the white house for real proof

The next thing you'll hear of him is that he's become a Saban analyst in Tuscaloosa, then next year, and on-field coach, AND recruiter....so don't worry about him...he'll be fine.

So OU HR got involved and clearly made Gundy feel best if he resigned after the team review apparently were moving forward and worked through it.
HR, don’t get me started on them but common sense and rational are typically not in play with them.

I had season tickets to Saints games for 23 years and have been to dozens of LSU games and never heard it shouted on the stands. The one time I did was in Yankees stadium in 2007. A group of 3 guys who looked Hispanic used it a couple times and then they began razzing a white family who were leaving in the 7th telling them something about "go back to Long Island bitches!"

We are living in the world created by 60+ years of the democratic party controlling most of the information that is presented. Americans are mostly illiterate now, and have no common sense about anything. Intellectual suicide is appropriate for today's America.

I’ve never heard it in the stands at MSU. I hear it all the time in the delta. Doesn’t matter who I’m around; I can’t hardly think of anyone I haven’t heard say it at some point. Farmers are the biggest users of the word. But the Ms delta has an entirely different culture than anywhere else in the nation and I couldn’t even begin to try to describe it honestly.

Only if you’re Cale Gundy and have no idea what you’re reading until you say it aloud.

The moral outrage from a few of you is beautiful irony, coming from SEC schools. Been to a lot of SEC games and heard the word used with abandon in the stands from white folk. They weren’t reading off an iPad. 99 percent of the stands would be empty if they cancelled everyone that’s used the word in jest. Or singing a song on the radio. “But, but I didn’t say it in front of black people.”
What a joke. Down vote because you’re secretly racist, because you’ve said it too.
There's a huge double standard here. It would seem that majority of blacks really have no problem with the word... it's the woke whites that have issues. Reading a word that black culture uses doesn't make him a racist.

There are things you just can’t do while employed at a public university, this is one of them. I tend to think Cale fell on the sword to avoid the potential fallout. However if he didn’t the school would of forced him out. To much negative press to come of that if it ever leaked.
An OU professor got canned for reading the word during class. It’s ridiculous or not, doesn’t matter. There are things you can’t do, he did it and it sucks.
Different world we are living in, good or bad.

Rumors are they will reinstate him. Any truth to that?

You can tell who the powerful are by paying attention to who has the power to enforce punishment for forbidden words. The church used to have power, which is why we faced consequences for saying frick in public places. We have a new set of high priestesses now, and a new list of curse words.

With all the support this coach is getting there is no way he is resigning over this.
Clearly he has decided to move on because he doesn't like what's happening with the program or doesn't like venebles or something.
OU should be worried this guy is checking out.

The decision was taken out of the athletic program's hands by the University Admin. They had no say in retaining him. Don't make silly shite up.
