Definitely would have been nerve racking at first, but they got good news this week when they locked up Venables for 6 more years and ensured mediocrity for the foreseeable future.

I don't understand the point of the extension, especially since I doubt that any other team wanted to hire Venables as coach.

This point exactly. Last year with all the schools looking for coaches. This year will not be the heavy weights hiring.

Shots fired!

Looking forward to the thieves going to the Swamp in November.

Hopefully they have as much fun there as we did last year.

You can say the same for Drinkwitz!

There’s programs far worse off than ou. Fsu arky clemson unc basically any team with money that needs a program rebuild would be licking their chops over a cheap buy out Brent. Not saying he deserved the extension but that’s the nature of cfb coaching.

Not as bad as it would feel to lose to Western Michigan.

We probably did when we beat you for the Football title in 08 too. So not new, retro. Like white guys having Afrocuts hair or bell-bottom pants .

I guess fsu was just the toughest regular season opponent bama faced last year.

Clemson is not firing Dabo. He accomplished too much in the days when he was actually good to get fired now.

Venables is better than Norvell. But that's not saying a lot since Norvell is like the single worst power conference coach.

When FSU finally is able to pony up the money to fire Norvell, I think they'll have higher standards for their new hire than "this guy is better than Norvell."

I just can't see any program that's fired their coach thinking that Venables is the best option to possibly hire as their new coach.
