Safe bet that if Ohio State had played Alabama, they'd be 5-1

They could lose to several SEC teams.

Real Life Wednesday at Ohio State

Parents (and many recruits) love this program. If a kid doesn’t make it or had a career ending injury this program gives him inroads to opportunities in life after football or even after the NFL.

What a novel idea. If I were an athlete from Miami with opportunities everywhere that would totally convince me to move to rust belt Mecca.
Maybe I could get a job bussing tables in a short north restaurant to pay for my studio apartment in beautiful Columbus.

I mean why wouldn’t you want to play at OSU? They check every single box possible

Blueblood
Nfl star power
Recent national success annually
Great school
Large alumni base
Young likable coach
Big city with future job prospects

This isn’t a knock on other schools at all but it’s insane that people think there are not a ton of reasons why talented football players go there

You are in fricking la la land if you really think any of those move the needle for the players who move south to north.

Columbus ranks amoung gloomiest cities in winter

Aww.
Dress warm rust boy.

FTR I mentioned I hope OSU wins earlier in this thread, just for the meltdown funs over the farce reaching maximum spin mode.

Columbus is a shite hole. The only nice area around it is New Albany. No one wants to be in sub 40 temperatures all year around in an awful city.

Almost every big time school has that type of program, do you think OSU is unique in that area or something?

Ohio State is in it... like they are most years...so deal with it. They have no control over their schedule at all. The ones to blame are that coward kevin Warren and the B!G presidents. I actually respect them for giving it their all to play with parental and player protests in Chicago and Columbus along with over 300,000 signed " we want to play" petitions by Justin Fields. That was gutsy, and only OSU and Nebraska spoke out. If not for those two the B!G would not have played this year because all those other cowards nary said a word. Kudos to them. I've seen OSU on numerous occasions this year and they are...well, OSU is OSU....always good. You'll see on Jan. 1.

If they were to win it all, would your opinion change? If the goal was to truly find the four best teams, I think it’s hard to pass on Ohio state.

Not fair to be rested and not get many guys banged up and/ or injured! Many players are out of game because they were injured or banged up and couldn't play at full speed.

The fact a second QB winning a national title after starting their career at UGA is a great reason to hope tOSU wins big.

tOSU is an undefeated P5 conference championship team. No way you can legitimately leave them out of the playoffs.

I heard the SEC is going to a 1 game season next year so we get 7 undefeated teams in the playoffs.

For all of those saying OSU had nothing to do with their schedule is full of shite. Every President and AD in the Big Ten were okay with not playing until the ACC, Big 123 and the SEC said we are playing and then when all the facts came out and they were looking like a bunch of fricking idiots they reversed course. That alone should keep those arrogant northern bastards out of the playoffs.

They're one of the 4 best teams... I think. If that's the criteria they should be in.

That said, the current system is dumb. There should be more teams with a real chance to compete for a chip.

So Coastal for example gets ragged on for a weak schedule yet Ohio State gets the “they can’t control their schedule” excuse? bullshite, the B10 fricked their teams and the PAC-12 fricked their teams by wanting to be holier than thou right until they realized that those “stupid hicks” in the south were still gonna play football and win this years national championship. The whole sport of college football doesn’t need to suffer because yankees and west coast liberals were too afraid of the kung flu to sack up and play a full schedule.

I was watching a YT video on this & they griped about the same teams being in due to their reputation for being good & said the teams should be based on this season's performance.

Then go on to say OSU should be in because they're always a yearly fb powerhouse.

WTF? You just CONTRADICTED your own logic about Alabama & Clemson!!!
