Orangebloods says it's a done deal

It's from Geoff Ketchum and he makes a shitload of assumptions so take that as you will.

Orangebloods publisher Geoff Ketchum and I have checked in with multiple sources on Wednesday and asked about Texas’ desire to leave the Big 12 and join the SEC. Texas and Oklahoma are ready to make that move. A high-level university official informed Orangebloods the expectation is that Texas and Oklahoma would inform the Big 12 as early as next week that both schools intend to decline on extending the existing set of media rights. The contract expires in 2025. "That should start the dominos," the source told Orangebloods. That major piece of news Orangebloods learned coincides with an earlier report on Wednesday. Houston Chronicle’s Brent Zwerneman was the first to report Texas and Oklahoma reached out to the SEC about joining that conference. Zwerneman also said, “An announcement could come within a couple of weeks concerning the potential addition of UT and OU to the league, the person said, which would give the SEC 16 schools and make it the first national super-conference.” In addition, Orangebloods was told a move to the SEC would signal the end of the LHN and that the school has come to terms with this. Another source told me he would not be surprised if LHN simply folded into the SEC Network (both are owned by ESPN).

That does not read like a done deal

How in the hell would you simply fold the
Longhorn Network into the SEC Net, because the
LHN is all Texas all the time. Dissolve it maybe.

Dissolved is definitely the word he’s looking for. I’m sure Texas is fine with it going away if this can happen

Whelp. There’s other conferences ag/Mizz can runoft to.
Would aggy be the king of the hill if they bolted for big12?

Kind of like how Saban had already bought a house in Austin, done deal?

My favorite Orange blood reporting was the list of coaches they were considering when Charlie Strong was hired. I wish I had saved it. They had 3 tiers. Their 1st tier was Saban, Harbaugh (coming off 2 straight seasons of NFC championship game appearances and 1 super bowl ), and some other NFL coach I believe. Or Maybe it was Urban Meyer. Tier 2 was another list of then Super elite coaches that Texas was unlikely to get. If Strong was even on the list, he was tier 3. And It was justified with some BS narrative about Texas brand and how elite NFL and College head coaches were all begging for the job.
Also on chip brown, don’t forget his reporting at the beginning of the last realignment phase. Per this douche, Texas was the lynchpin to Converence realignment and all the conferences were fighting for Texas. Then he changed tone and said that Texas had turned down the PAC 12 and decided to save the Big 12. Seriously frick Texas.

"There is absolutely no truth to the claim that A&M will be in the SEC in July 2012. None."

Sounds like it’s very possible.

Looks like the horns are so desperate to stay with us that they are willing to give up a 20 million per year contract for their own network just to follow us to our new home. Kinda creepy, really.

This is much better than the stuff I have seen from the ags OTR today.

Ketchum is a dipshit but he's not the only one. ALL the Texas sources are saying the same thing

Hmm Chip don't seem to know wtf he's talking about.

The only "done deal" in that writeup is that Texas and OU have realized the Big 12 sucks and want out.
The rest is specilatiom on where they want to go, with no information about where they'll actually end up.
