re: Did Texas try to stop A&M from joining the SEC 10 years ago?

is this coming from the same source that said that atm has an unwritten agreement with the Cocks, Kentucky and Florida to block any schools from their respective states joining the SEC? Cause I am pretty sure thats all bullshite
re: How much TV revenue would Texas and OU add realistically?

While having atm in the SEC gives it presence in the Texas TV market, its muted because its just atm. You might get some casual viewers but most Texas, OU and other fans dont give a shite. But if Texas and OU come in, the deal changes. Pretty much all eyes in the state will be interested...and that leads to a big contract re-negotiation of rates.
With ESPN being able to kill the Longhorn network and them owning the SEC network and likely getting all the rights on broadcasting then a big renegotiation is very possible. Reports suggest "at least" a $10M increase per school per year. Texas would leave $15M a year on the table if they kill LGN but sounds like they like the long term play with the SEC versus that guaranteed cash (at least for a few more years)

Jesus, quit being such a pussy, Aggy.
yeahhhhhhhhhh, I think you have a skewed perspective on this. Yes, you were the little brother in our old relationship. You hated that, got it. You left to form an identity apparently (per your AD yesterday haha). But ultimately, it was a whatever kind of reaction from our fanbase. And to your credit, its starting to pan out for you, well done!
But this is about the future of college athletics. The NCAA is imploding and the SEC is in the pole position going forward. Makes sense for Texas and OU to join in so we have a seat at the table. Makes sense for the SEC to add the #1 and #8 athletic revenue schools to the party and everyone makes even more coin. With Texas and OU in, SEC goes from pole position in leading whatever the NCAA morphs into... to lapping the field and dictating terms to the rest of the country. Its pretty basic and its why no one is going to vote against this...

is that why he'll be moving to Baton Rouge when Orgeron gets canned?

I genuinely think with the current landscape that this will kill the Ags recruiting. Bama, LSU and Georgia will still come in to get top end recruits from Texas and the Ags will still get a few here or there but this will elevate Texas to take the kids that the Ags were getting cause "SEC". So yeah, I do think this knocks TAMU down significantly.
Be interesting to see if Jimbo sticks if this happens

being reported that OU and Texas are notifying the Big12 they wont renew media rights. ESPN also owns LHN so can easily absorb and rebrand it into the SEC network
feels like it is happening

$10-15M more per year and you still dont like us? Plus we make the Aggy dipshits irrelevant within a few years and shut them up with their delusional cultish BS?

Ketchum is a dipshit but he's not the only one. ALL the Texas sources are saying the same thing

I dont know shite but we're hearing that the money on the table is redonk and Aggy is leaking this in a desperate attempt to keep us out cause the votes to accept us are there
re: Texas destroyed the big 12 and now people want to let them in the SEC
Posted by Zhorn96 on 7/21/21 at 9:53 pm
everyone would prefer Texas over the Ags
re: Does Texas & OU
Posted by Zhorn96 on 7/21/21 at 9:51 pm
