Watson Brown has a career record of 136-211-1, accumulated at Austin Peay, Cincinatti, Rice, Vandebilt, UAB, and Tennessee Tech.

But on September 23, 2000 the all time losingest coach in CFB history brought his newborn baby program UAB Blazers to Baton Rouge to face off against the mighty Nick Saban and LSU Tigers.

Surely the greatest coach in CFB history and his Big 6 SEC program would squash lowly Watson Brown and his UAB Blazers like a gnat, right?

WRONG

It was Watson Brown who walked away victorious in that meeting of the football minds, earning himself one of the 39% of his games he won thought a long career.

Here's to you Watson, you sack of shite

Being 0-1 vs Watson Brown is more embarrassing than being 0-1 vs Joe Moorehead or Jeremy Pruitt

How about being 0-1 vs both of those AND 0-2 vs Coach O?

I remember that game I was there.

A few days later someone in the media asked Saban if he would schedule UAB again, and he said something like "Yeah, do you think we're scared or something?" I thought man it's actually good to hear a coach say that instead of what Dinardo or Hallman would have said "Not anytime soon!"

I worked with Watson once upon a time. Good dude. Smart but never struck me as being tough enough to be a football coach.
