This is going to be only the 4th time Alabama has played in Athens since the 92 expansion.

'95
'03
'08

Before that we have only played there 6 times since '76!

'76
'85
'90

Alabama has played in Athens less than any other East opponent. (outside Mizzo)

Its a nice stadium and cool town, wish we got to go there more. It's only going to be worst with the current schedule routine.

You need to thank the Tide alum in the SEC scheduling department for that gift.

No need to risk anything is it?

C'mon, Patton, that French blood is not only whiny but indolent.

It really does suck that we only get to go to an away venue once every 12 years. I've been trying to go to every away venue and I've got about half of them down but won't be able to make Columbia this year. Now I have to wait until 2027 to get another shot at it. I think it dilutes the fan and player experience to not see more of these away venues. Be it doing away with the permanent opponent or moving to 9 SEC games, something needs to be done.

ETA: Athens is the shite. Went in undergrad a couple years ago and considered UGA for law school solely on that trip

What he meant to say was, Tide fans need to thank the Tide alum who work with the guy who makes the SEC schedule and refs the games and is the TV announcer and the guys that vote in the polls, and works for ESPN......

Incorrect. Outside of Missouri, Florida is the team we've played the least. Bama has only played in Gainesville 10 times with 3 of those ('99, '06 and '11) taking place after the the '92 expansion.

We would ALL like to travel to Athens more often, but Alabama insists on bashing Tennessee's brains in every year.

Of course whenever we mention this fact all we get back is, "French, schedules!, refs, TSIO" bullshite.

It's just flat out dumb - and even dumber to see a fricking gumptard complain about not going to Athens enough.

I wish we went to Athens every other year. Freaking great town. Wish it was on a weekend other than this one, as I have other plans.

this isn't hard

3 or 4 perm rivals for everyone

best 2 teams play for SEC Champs in ATL

rotate the rest

keep it at 8 games so more mid tier SEC teams can continue to make a bowl and so that teams with built in rivals can keep them and have schedule flexibility
