Maybe some of the sidewalk trash(***im not saying all sidewalkers are trash) jumping on the bandwagon will stop.
Won't happen. Their entire net worth is invested in Walmart bammerwear and memorabilia.
Even in the depth of the Dubose/Shula continuum, the true bammers held on to the faith of the Bahr and awaited the coming of the messiah Saban.

I was there during the bad years. I sat in the stadium 1-2 hours early to get a good seat just to watch Bama lose to teams like La Monroe, Northern Illinois etc.
Ditto. I remember those years very vividly. High school was not fun in the fall if you were an Alabama fan.

Dude, you need to make your way back over to ITAT. They appreciate your particular style of posting much more over there.

Yeah, I see that. I couldn't believe people were saying our season is over and how we should begin getting ready for the next season.
All because of one loss.

Refreshing to hear from an actual Bama fan, considering 85% of your fan base thinks football was invented in the fall of '08.

Northern Illinois was a brutal game. Not as bad as the homecoming that year vs USM. The Brandon Avalos Pain Train was in full effect.
My favorite Bama years were the Franchione ones. Exciting games, big win in the Independence Bowl,Zow killing Auburn. Good times.

Correct. Trees, tornado jokes, baby names after coaches, running of the gumps, and shite like that makes us all look like retards.

Great post OP. I was a student from '99 to '03 so I know what's it like.
Best thing about Auburn beating us 5 or 6 years in row was a ton of the trash joined Auburn. Unfortunately they came back as soon as we started winning.
I spend nearly every Thanksgiving with family in Birmingham. It's almost comical to think about how much Auburn gear was walking around during the streak as opposed to more recent years when Bama gear is all you'll see.
I swear someday someone is going to get smart and invent Alabama-Auburn reversible jackets and t-shirts. Billion dollar idea right there

Agreed, get sick of some of the Bama posters on here for that.
I can't tell what's worse -- whiney Bama fans crying about one loss as if you're in the midst of a losing season and/or unprecedented program slump, or haughty dipshite Bama fans griping about said fan.

The one crying about one loss is worse. I'm not being haughty, just old. I was at the University when Coach Bryant was still coaching. I've seen the wins and the losses. The wins are more fun, but the sun still comes up the next day either way . . . even if the loss is to Auburn and it's six in a row! You know that very old saying about you have to go through the valley to appreciate the mountaintop? That.

Personally, I would suggest that you make up your mind not to dwell on what other fans do. There have always been sidewalk fans, and always will be. In the seventies, there was no access to Coach Bryant by the masses, no fan day, and no internet to broadcast every stupid thing that every stupid fan did. There was no statewide parading of the national championship trophy, no photos of Bama and Auburn fans with the trophy at Walmart.
