Dreamland ruined itself when it started franchising.
Country's BBQ is good in almost every location except Auburn!

Archibald's has always been my favorite as well. The ribs and sauce are amazing.
I know that there is an Original Moe's in Tuscaloosa. I have only eaten at the one in Lakeview(Bham) and it was really good. I haven't heard anything about the Tuscaloosa location.

I was under the impression that the area and intersection where Full Moon and Krispy Kreme were was going to be a mixed use Midtown Village type development. I suppose 3 or 4 of the destroyed businesses could rebuild free standing locations on the stretch where Krispy Kreme was and that area could still be developed according to the Tuscaloosa Forward plan.

At this point I don't know if anyone could tell how the rebuild is supposed to go. There are lots of people that are not happy because the city has screwed up so much on the rebuild rules and whatnot.

Has the Shrimp Basket opened yet in T-Town? I know the owner, eddie, he was excited to get it open

Good to see good ol' American perserverance in the face of severe adversity.

Yes, it's been open for a couple weeks and the parking lot is absolutely packed everytime I drive past it. I've tried to eat there a couple times but the wait was too long. They've been doing some serious business from the looks of it.

Now we just need to get Krispy Kreme and Milo's rebuilt. Two of my all time favorite junk food places in Ttown.

This. While the city's plan to memorialize the path the tornado took through Tuscaloosa is very noble, it is also very stupid because it really screwed over a lot of business owners who lost their businesses on April 27. Just build a single memorial that includes a plaque listing the names of the victims who died that day and be done with it. There is plenty of space for such a memorial in that park downtown.

In the old Shoney's building on 82 down towards the interstate. On the right side of 82 if getting off the interstate and heading towards campus and the mall.

It's on McFarland not far from the 20/59 exit. It's right by the Waffle House in what used to be a Mexican restaurant. Before that it was a Shoney's.

I honestly think the way the rebuilding has gone may not get him re-elected.

Thats good to hear. He was pretty amped about it, but was a little nervous about moving such a basic idea of a restaurant away from it's core(the beach)
He has made a killing here recently with the growth of his restaurants and bp oil spill. got to pay for his new boat and twenty something girlfriend somehow

I think you are talking about the area behind Krispy Kreme and Full Moon. It used to be known as Cedar Crest.
I go to church with the people that own all that, H.A. Edwards. All that area was destroyed with maybe a couple of houses remaining and it was all rental properties. As you can imagine they've had a rough time.
I know they had talked about selling it, having it rezoned as commercial, and like you said a Midtown type development.
If I had to guess the red tape is slowing whatever they are going to do down.
