Alabama usually has 60% or better of in-state recruits. It just didn't in 2011. It will be quite the opposite in 2012.

In states like Alabama and Louisiana with relatively small population bases the percentages will tend to fluctuate more than for the large population centers like Florida, Texas, Georgia and California. Louisians looks like it won't produce quite as many next season while Alabama'a numbers will be up. Both coaching staffs have shown the ability to reach outside their respective states and pull in what they need.

24-21 made your arse quit. Brag about your biased number 1 ranking on rivals all you want we all know it doesn't mean shite. A service run by Bama graduates.

One big difference b\w LSU and Bama's 2011 Classes..
I think it can be a big difference. Not so much in athleticism... I think players who are homegrown, die hard fans of the school they go to since the day they were born can benefit the program in other ways... as far as helping with the family atomosphere Miles wants to create, leadership qualities of players and the overall comradarie of a team that comes along with that. I enjoy how we are locking down our state and this class will just motivate our instate kids to stay home and be part of this program even more. I sure as hell don't have to deal with a Cyrus K, Calloway, Region situation like you guys and i'll take it ;-) Larry Wilson is doing an OUTSTANDING job

There is no doubt that Sabam has to work much harder each year than Miles to have elite classes. The quantity and quality of LA talent each year is amazing. This is the lowest number ever of instate bama kids this year. Sometimes you just have to go where the talent is. It confirms that Saban is the best recruiter in the country.

The Bama grads didn't do too good a job last year when they ranked Auburn 4th and Bama 5th. ...just sayin. If you think the No.1 ranking "doesn't mean shite" your kidding yourself.

Personally I think Miles is the best recruiter in the country...I know that plenty of Bama and LSU fans will disagree with me on that, which is fine...to each their own. I love his style of recruiting and the type of players that comes along with that style. I also think over the next several years...we will see that transpire onto the field :)

It doesn't mean shite to compare talent from 1-5 or even 5-10 the differnce is minimal. Auburn won a title this year when was their last class ranked number one?

LSU only 5 out of state recruits

Bama only 5 instate recruits

Doesnt that compliment Bama actually? That we were lucky to have some homegrown talent to recruit but they are pulling in blue chips from all over the country regardless if the state is down?

Auburn is now dominating Alabama in state recruiting. I guess you can say Auburn has run Bama out of it's own state.

Bama got most of the players they wanted in state those left only had the Barn to go to. You will find that the Tide wins more than loses head to head battles with the barn.

this year was the best year in LA recruiting in a while... typically Miles has to sign more out of state kids to meet position needs

Oh and obviously Saban is a tremendous recruiter

One big FACTOR that everyone is overlooking is that Les is guaranteed to be at LSU through 2018 with a huge buy out and he will honor his contract VS Saban has no buy out and will likely bolt if things look better elsewhere.

As you have seen in this thread I have complimented Bama's class in several posts...not the point of the thread. Just pointing out a big difference in their class and ours and the fact that AU is about to make instate recruiting that much tougher for them(a problem we will not have in the future) Sure, they will have no problem going out of state to cherry pick recruits...but, I personally believe having more instate recruits can be beneficial in several ways to a program...
