Bama has not had one class in the last 3 years be better than ours.....we are not being out recruited. Maybe rivals makes you feel all warm and fuzy inside with all those points and stars that glitter so brightly to your bammers....you know when we hit the field you better work your asses off or you will get beat. Same goes for us

Sure, LSU has had a great classes over the last several years, but it's not just Rivals that has thought highly of Alabama's classes.

Outside of "it just is", why is it so "big"? Good is good. Explain more, OP

Getting in state recruits set the expectation for future in state recruits, and also helps relationships with HS's. It's pretty important for LSU.

Rivals, Espn, Scout....they all have their opinions as do I. You have brought in great classes with Saban hands down, but not at one point have I felt we were out recruited, Miles is such a dangerous recruiter! I've never seen two coaches have such different styles of coaching from one another.....will be a great rivalry to watch in the coming years

Alabama usually has 60% or better of in-state recruits. It just didn't in 2011. It will be quite the opposite in 2012.

Did the 2011's go to Aubie's prayer meeting?

If you think there's any real difference between Alabama and LSU's recruiting classes the last few years, you're a fool

overall top 10 classes are fairly equal the difference in each class is who gets the guy that is the difference maker.

Again, there were around 10 in-state guys that were your normanl SEC caliber athletes. They split in-state.

According to Rivals.com's Alabama post-season Top 40, there were 8 in-state guys who were rated a four star or better (and had nice offer lists).

1 - Brent Calloway - Alabama
2 - Erique Florence - Auburn
3 - Marvin Shinn - Alabama
4 - Reece Dismukes - Auburn
5 - Jonathan Rose - Auburn
6 - Jaylen Denson - Auburn
7 - Danny Woodson - Alabama
8 - Chris Jones - Alabama

That's an even split. As you can see, it just wasn't a very deep year in the state of Alabama.

I'm not even sold on Marvin Shinn. I THINK Woodson could be better.

Also, I don't even think Calloway is that great. Rose had a bad AA game.

They will all develop different tho.

Like I said, even the guys at the top of most in-state lists have their questions marks. Just wasn't a great year in-state.
