Any good teams you think the SEC should consider?

We'll take Oklahoma to make up for the whiff on A&M, but not sure who else to balance it out

TCU for sure
Probably Texas for money just like we took A&M.

if you take Oklahoma, your going to have to take Ok St as well. I'd love TCU though. I'd take the beakers and Kstate even. I just want to play the gayhawks again.

I really like West Virginia --- I know it has a small footprint, but it seems like a good fit.
Texas just seems like poison for a conference.

It is a good fit. Instant rivalry with Tenn and KY.

TCU would be a good addition to the west for the lulz. Lord knows we need a team we can all beat up on now that State is salty.
Other than that,

No. There's no Big XII school worth adding. Texas is redundant and would have to lose the LHN to even be considered. OU doesn't bring in a TV market worth having. Do we even need to discuss the rest?
The SEC wasn't looking to expand when A&M came calling, but the opportunity to get into Texas couldn't be passed up. The closest thing to that kind of opportunity would be getting North Carolina and another Tobacco Road school (a UNC/UVA combo would make the academic types cream their pants and would be a solid addition for TV purposes), but I just don't see that happening given the current climate. Now, if some external force changes the landscape, all bets are off, but I can't see what that would be, either.

Nah, the whole thing needs to be blown up and re-aligned, four conferences with 16 teams and it has to make sense geographically, also a limit of 2 teams from the same state in the same conference.
FWIW I really like the SEC but we're getting stupid with the footprints of each conference.

If it comes to it, I think it would be more about defending turf. When the Big 12 collapses, other power conferences will be grabbing at teams and we will probably counter to balance the power.
Who knows though, maybe the big 12 can somehow limp along... kind of like that blind, matted stray cat that refuses to die.

Meh, if we could get OU without OSU, I'd be alright with that.

While I don't see it happening, ideally I think it'd be Oklahoma and TCU. They could come into the West, move Mizzou to the West, while Bama & AU go East...I also think West Virginia would be a good fit as well...the Longhorn Network is problematic as I think it played a heavy role in teams (Nebraska, Colorado, A&M, Mizzou) leaving the Big 12 to begin with, so I wouldn't touch UT...

Agreed. WVU would be a cultural fit -- far and away moreso than Mizzou -- and they're committed to football. No basketball schools like Kansas.
And keep Texas far away -- they've already killed two college football conferences.

The only school worth the while is one ya can't have because they're tied to another school at the hip. OU is the only one. Oklahoma City and Tulsa are ok markets to add TV wise. But not at the expense of having to take Okie State as well. Frick any of the tejas schools. We have A&M. kU would be ok for basketball and frankly would be that cakewalk game the west needs in football each year but they're tied to KSU.
So short answer is no, no one worth the while that is realistic.

TCU horny frogs should be atop the list if we want to expand

I'd like West Virginia (wanted them the last go around over Mizzou) and Texas, but we'd probably have to go TV money over quality here (The longhorn network basically poisons that well). In that case, I guess we would take Oklahoma and Iowa.
Big 12 states ranked by population are:
# 2 Texas 20,851,820 (already covered by A&M)
#28 Oklahoma 3,450,654 (we could take OK State or OU)
#30 Iowa 2,926,324 (Iowa State)
#34 Kansas 2,688,418 (Kansas or K State)
#38 West Virginia 1,808,344
Population wise, the picks would be Oklahoma and Iowa State.
Using a blend of past records and population size, it would be K State and Oklahoma
Going off of stadium capacity (in states outside of Texas), it would be: Oklahoma and West Virginia (or OK State)

Any state you mentioned below Oklahoma has a smaller population than Mississippi, the lowest population state in the SEC right now. Meaning they would drag down TV money, not raise it.
OU is the only team worth taking in that conference if you are looking for new markets, and they are tied to OSU.
