If Ole Miss really wanted to they could still threaten to break the contract and walk away like Texas Tech did.
If worse comes to worse, and they can't get out of the contract, they should just forfeit the game. For Texas/ESPN to try and snake an OOC game that should have a lot of national appeal (I know I was looking forward to watching it) is pretty dang shady at best. Now if OM was told that this could happen (and I don't mean told based on a contract that was signed years before the LHN even existed) and OM agreed to be on the LHN, then that is on them.
Has OM given a public statement about this yet?
BTW, if you think that tu was the sole perpetrator in this, you'd be mistaken. ESPN is every bit as responsible for this. Just wait until the SECN comes into play. I could definitely see a scenario where say the SECN can't get full coverage in the state of Texas, and ESPN moves one or more of TAMU's games to the SECN in order to get fans in Texas to demand that their cable/satellite providers to offer the SECN.

Yes, just for the Aggie meltdown

Oh you can bank on that for sure.
I'd go so far as to say A&M/Arkansas is going to be on the SECN the first few years to try and force Dallas cable providers into getting the network.
I assume several Florida games will be on SECN as well since providers will argue FSU and Miami split that state up.
Also, if A&M/Texas ever comes back? Yea, that's going on SECN and LHN.

No doubt. That might be the only way Dodds would ever agree to play the game again, but I doubt that would even work.

It's pretty shady on UT's part
Tennessee had nothing to do with this. The shady team is tu.
BTW If a sporting event is broadcast on the LHN, how would anyone know?

That wouldn't be so bad since A&M and Arkansas are in the same conference, and the money gets split equally anyway. But the LHN is just for 1 school. ESPN realizes they've made a huge mistake, but they have too much money invested to just bail on it. The SECN is a much better proposition, and a lot more attractive.

Wow, Ole Miss. Just wow. Pathetic y'all let them bully you into this. Welcome to doing business with the longhorns. Trustworthy business partners.
Longhorn network didn't exist when we signed the contract. They put a clause in that said something like "and another network that has yet to be formed" as a catch all. They won't actually have the game on that network though, why would they want to skip out on a nationally televised game?

In fairness to Longhorn fans (and yes, I realize I'll burn in Hell for this), they seem to be more upset than Ole Miss fans about this at shaggybevo.com. I don't want to pretend to be able to see into the minds of 'sips, but my guess is they see how this is another Dodds' backasswards move. The best OOC game they have all year, and nobody will see it? The only way this makes sense is if Dodds believes this move will coerce more (many more) Texans to subscribe to LHN. If that's really what he thinks, he's dumber than I thought. But I can't figure any other explanation.
I do feel for Ole Miss fans, but I won't so much after you Beat The Hell Out of Texas.

I really don't think they're going to play it on there, I think the contract just has the option. Or at least that's how I understood it when I read it.

Poor Texas has to get raped on live tv
LHN doesn't really count. Pretty sure the capacity of their stadium is bigger than the # of people who get that shite channel.
