I don’t blame Ole Miss for forcing Lane’s hand. He shown in the past that once he’s mentally checked out, he needs to leave.

Make sense. Auburn is a dumpster fire run by its boosters.

Ole Miss is exactly right. shite or get off the pot. I guarantee Lane’s agent is playing Texas against Florida and LSU right now. He’s not going to LSU without a guaranteed contract of over $70,000,000. How does LSU afford him? LSU is down about $90,000,000 right now with its athletic dept screwups, can they go another 80-90 million as the poorest school in the SEC? Except for using LSU to run the bidding up, there isn’t any logical reason for him to go there. Your governor will have a hard time explaining that to the taxpayers. Your chicken man ain’t paying that money. Lane is showing no ethics, no morality…second thought, he would be a great fit for LSU. But that will be the destruction of his career,

So the answer, in your opinion, is simply to wait for Lane to make his decision. Regardless of how long that takes. Which of these strategies do you think is most likely to leave Ole Miss with a coach off the scrap heap? The one where Ole Miss tries to control its destiny or the one where Ole Miss lets the irrational “hot chick” run the show?

Could be the ultimate troll/smoke screen. Maybe he has already signed his extension and has Ole Miss admins assisting his troll by giving this “ultimatum”. He could have both LSU and Florida on the hook and waiting, possibly affecting the recruiting at 2 SEC schools that are his competitors on the field. Not to mention complicating the coaching searches as well. Talk about 4D chess.
But probably not

I have zero faith that Auburn will make a quality hire. I’ve been burned too many times. I fully expect them to hire another bum. Their track record speaks for itself.

He's got a nearly $14m a year contract on his desk from Ole Miss right now. Would make him the highest paid coach in the country.
Maybe I’m a simple Aggie, but the difference between, say, $12 million and $14 million is negligible and not anywhere near enough for me to want to be seen as a money whore.
I’ve told my boys for years that chasing the top dollar jobs is a hollow existence.
Money is important, but these are already generational wealth numbers.

He’d be fired for cause d/t “lack of concern for his contract” which is what the Raiders used when they fired him.

Ole Miss AD is the biggest cuck in America.
He should tell Lane, "Press conference at 9:00 AM in the morning. You're going to announce your staying or leaving."
He can fire Lane for free. Lane's next contract will absorb the buy out.

of course they don't leave that gigantic shite show you have going in AU. They simply wait to get fired and take your money and leave. Then you go a make another bad hire. when auburn gets it shite together have their people call our people and let them know what to do.

Coaching contracts have gotten completely out of control. Ability to make a pitch and sell a kid isn't quite as important as it used to be...go get a bad arse x's and o's coach for $5-6MM, dump the extra $8-9MM in to QB and bad arse O-line. If OM already has a contract of $14 on his desk and dude's not signing, imo it's "thank you boosters, we are going to reinvest those funds in to our roster and pull the contract". There are tons of dudes out there that can coach the x's and o's. This is about to be the most absurd offseason of coaching moves, these schools need to be playing chess...good on OM here.
