Ole Miss’ defense is a mix of portal and HS recruits that came together to be one of the most elite groups in the county.
This model works for ole miss. Kiffin and co are finding a lot of guys that have 2-3+ years left to contribute not just one and dones. And if you think they don’t care check to see how many of these so called mercenaries are opting out of the “meaningless” bowl game against Duke.

Do the math...
Texas will have spend 5 million per year or 25% of 20 mill for your roster every single year...They want to be #1 in the rankings..same with Auburn, BAMA and all the big guys.They want a 5 star loaded class every year.
Ole Miss will spend the same 20 million on their rosters....but we spend 10 million for the pricey and Walter Nolans and seniors...prob 5 million for proven transfers who will be playing...then send 2.5 million for sophomores with potential and 2.5 for signing class kids...at most.
So its the same 20 million dollars spent and can be spent every year
I like our method...we dont have a ton of money tied up in backups we are paying to develop and ride the bench...our money is spent on superstars who help us beat the Georigas of the world.

Texas got to the playoffs by playing a weak arse schedule and getting pounded by Georgia not just once, but twice…a team Ole Miss beat by 3 scores.
