Should be pretty commonplace by now.

All eyes are on Trinidad Chambliss' preliminary injunction hearing today, and for good reason. But even if the ruling goes his way, that's just winning round one. The NCAA will almost certainly appeal right away, turning this into a longer fight.

The NCAA will have a heavy burden.

Their "case" is absolutely pathetic and every Ole Miss fan should be completely embarrassed at what they're attempting to do.

I don't blame Ole Miss fans for being happy, you want your program to do whatever it takes to win.

But the case is pretty bad, it wouldn't have a prayer in a neutral environment.

At this point, who cares. Let the kid play one more year. I want them to be at their best when we play them and let the best team in that day win.

These types of cases have bigger implications on the future of college football.

They can’t just say “aw shucks let the kid play”

It kind of sucks that we're setting a precedent that a kid can be granted a medical redshirt on a minor ailment when he wasn't going to play anyway..

It's not really about that.

It just further proves that the NCAA has no pull or power and is a complete joke.

At this point, he'll miss the first 4 games as the judge will still be delivering his ruling...

It's not crying to call out your school for being pathetic titty babies for trying to completely break the sport just b/c you're too chickenshit to break in a new QB.

I have no doubt you felt the same way when A&M filed a lawsuit against the NCAA and won an Injunction declaring Rashaun Agee eligible last season.

yeah the NCAA giving a kid a 9th year of eligibility isn’t an issue but Ole Miss seeking a 6th year for their QB is the real problem

Ole Miss breaking the sport?

How long was Pavia at this? Beck? That dude admitted he hadn't been to class in 2 years.

Maybe neither should happen

This is the problem with everyone being so short-sighted out of their own self-interest. Is having guys play forever really what you want out of college sports? Because this ruling isn’t just going to benefit your team. It’s going to open the flood gates for everyone to file lawsuits and make up ailments. Apparently all you need is a state court judge and a post-dated letter to show the NCAA acted in bad faith. Is that really what we want? And pretend it’s not your starting QB filing the lawsuit when you answer

Maybe but the NCAA giving that kid a 9th year but denying Chambliss shows a clear lack of consistency. The courts are just ensuring they are consistent across the board

Rashaun Agee didn't argue a sore throat should equal medical hardship but nice try.
