Bro it’s all about money. Before this game I was saying Vandy wouldnt lose this game due to officiating for one simple reason.

Ole Miss is not bowl eligible this year anyway, Vandy needs to win this game and the next to get to a bowl. The officiating was not gonna let Vandy lose if it was close.

I’m not sure that was the goal for the whole game. But I have no doubt that factored in to the final call.

So I guess next week, the conspiracy won’t have to worry about the Vandy-UT game bc one is going to a bowl, they will be overseeing other games to fit the agenda? Geez people.

Of course that was a catch. Some SEC officials are idiots.

If the ground jars the ball loose in any way, it’s incomplete. The replay shows the ball coming loose from his one hand before the DB started grabbing it. It’s a dumb rule but it’s incomplete. Not even debatable.

That's kind of the way I saw it too. Never expected a call of incomplete. Neither receiver or defender ever allowed the ball to touch the ground. Just typical SEC officiating.

It would have been a great catch, but he didn't hang on to it.

Jesus, what is it with people not being able to understand the basic rules of football? Even commentators and writers.

On replay it was clearly NOT a catch.

NCAA rules are clear.

"If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without
contact by an opponent) he must maintain complete and continuous
control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground,
whether in the field of play or in the end zone
."

At the :07 mark of the clip on Saturday Down South that was linked above, you can clearly see that the receiver has the ball coming out of the receiver's hands.

You may be able to rip replay officials for other calls during the year, but this was a damn good call.

You know what would have made it a catch? If he would have caught the ball and tucked it instead of trying to showboat and get up with it in one hand. That would have made it a
Catch.

The way it unfolded, he pulled it away from his body and the DB took it from him. the rule taken word by word was not a catch. And they are lucky it wasn’t ruled an int.

I mean, he caught it, took 2-3 steps, fell on his arse all while maintaining possession. How is that not a catch?

Uhhh...how about because he didn't. :07 mark of the clip...the ball is out of his hand.

This is just a further example of posters being quick to trash the officials, when they themselves don't even know the rules. The receiver clearly did not maintain possession of the ball continuously through the act of falling to the ground. The ball comes out at the :07 mark and the defender secures possession while his feet are out of bounds. That's why it was called incomplete, and frankly it's obvious if you actually know what the rule is.

Once again this is the politics of the SEC. Ole Miss can't go bowling but Vandy can so they want more SEC teams in bowl games. More bowl games more money for SEC! Great catch!

I think I've got a head of cabbage in the refrigerator with more brain cells than you. Dumbass can't even read...much less grasp a basic rule of football.

in other words, you would have went to jail on a domestic violence charge had that ever happened to Bama on the last play of the game.

DB's legs were out of bounds when he got it.

Looked like a catch to me.
