Ole Miss fans: what's your expectation for 2026?

The middle of your schedule is brutal but there's a good chance you could be 6-0 going into the Texas game.
Golding impressed me at the media days. Seems like he shored up the Rebs' secondary via the portal, but we shall see. Overall I expect your defense to be considerably improved and with Chambliss, Lacey, most of the OL returning this looks like a promising year. Curious what y'all are thinking.

In all seriousness, we went 5-1 in one score games a year after going 0-3. We could be just as good as last year, and close game regression could have us as low as 8-4. If the offense takes a step back without kiffin, 7-5 is unlikely but on the table. We also had really good injury luck outside of Lacy getting hurt towards the end of the year. Any injury on the O Line/D line or to Chambliss/Lacy and even 6-6 is possible.
That’s all before you account for the extra SEC game which theoretically costs you at least half a win compared to cupcake non-con.
Expecting a better defense, but need to see WR step up before I believe in the offense. We had 3 legit WR 1 last year plus Watkins who was a hell of a freshman.
TL;DR best guess is 8-4/9-3. Wouldn’t be shocked by 7-5 or 10-2. Anything better or worse means we got lucky or unlucky (or Pete sucks)

If Chambliss/Lacy stay healthy all year, I'll say 10-2 and back in the playoff. If not, who knows. I think we will be remarkably improved on defense. If we drop off anywhere, it's probably at WR as last year's group was excellent.

I am excited but we play in the SEC so if we have an off day, it's going to be an L. I feel pretty confident about 9 wins, should be 10 or 11 wins but shite happens. We had the roster to go undefeated in 2024 and dropped 3 games to lesser opponents. Should be a fun season though. The games that worry me the most are @Oklahoma, @Texas, and Georgia at home. I'm also not looking past Florida. Sumrall is a hell of a coach.

The good thing is they have Russell Wilson Jr. and a healthy payroll.

Thinking Oklahoma should have done a better job than what Goling did this offseason.

Kind of sort of. JDB was the co-OC here with Kiffin and Weis for a couple of years. He was a little more air raidy in his route concepts and a little less vertical at ECU but he also didn't have Jaxson Dart or Trinidad Chambliss. A lot of the concepts are very similar.

It is the same offense. JDB was here under Kiffin 2 years ago.

I'm expecting a similar result to last season. The roster is better, deeper on paper. The schedule is tougher. We have a new coaching staff, but the same system.

Anything less than 9 wins would be a major disappointment. 10-2 and another CFP run is the official expectation. Must win at least 1 of Texas, UGA, OU and take care of business elsewhere.
