How do their facilities compare to bama, Aggies, Texas, Ohio State, Oregon, etc

They are blowing $75:million firing HC, AD, and paying Lane's buyout to OM, and firing a lot of existing staff.

They aren't like the Aggies who already had the money for paying Jimbo in an escrow account before firing him, got rid of the AD for free, and hired Elko for first few years at a relatively low salary.

Don't expect any facilities upgrades at LSU any time soon. And only $25 million for NIL is not that great.

in-division rival

There are no more divisions, and there haven’t been for a couple of years. However, Ole Miss-LSU are permanent opponents going forward.

Opinion based. Close enough and many in the sport have said so. Besides I’m not even the one that said it lol.

Not top 5. Close, maybe.

I would say:
Alabama
OSU
Michigan
Georgia
ND
Texas
Are better.

Equal and could either be as good or better:
Oregon (Probably below LSU)
Texas A&M (About equal)

but they’ve handled the whole deal really poorly.

It's crazy how bad they've handled this.

Playing hard ball when they had no leverage to derail their best season ever just to hire their DC? It's like one self-own after another.

All emotion. No rationality.

They've likely set back the program 5 years

They have to get through the playoffs. What the hell did you expect them to do?

Have you ever directed an organization with more complexity than a lemonade stand?

Going from a top 25 job to a top 5 job isn’t “far from a lateral move.”

This is the ramblings of a fan of a top 25 program who has no chance of winning titles, speaking to a fanbase of a program who has won 3 natties in the past 25 years.

There is a HUGE gap between a "top 25 job" and a "top 5 job", even with the shitty 12-team playoff that gives false sense of relevance to those mid-tier programs.

They not only ensured their playoff run would be brief, but that they would have no chance of getting back to the playoffs in the foreseeable future.

A fricking on the front and back ends, if you will.

I don't understand your response. Yes, LSU and Lane fricked OM, but at this juncture, what was the AD supposed to do to manage the coming weeks?

I’m guessing you have never seen LSU facilities

He could have let him coach until they lost, which could have been a magical run in the playoffs.

Instead they ensured failure in the playoffs and in the immediate future.

He wanted to do the respectable thing and close out this year with his team and they threw a temper tantrum and created a bunch of false media narratives to spin their failure.

I don't see it that way at all.

You announce you are leaving at any major institution for a competitor and that's your last day.

Your loyalties lie elsewhere from that moment forward.

They are giving their AD a pass. He shouldn’t be AD of anything.

Didn’t Hugh Freeze beat the Goat TWICE while he was at Ole Miss? It’s not like they can’t win big games there.

No. Ole Miss fricked themselves.

The proof will be in the pudding the next few years when the fruits of these emotionally-planted seeds blossom.

I'm not even one of the big Kiffin supporters from LSU (this year at least). It's just insane how badly Ole Miss handled this, and their fans are on another level of cope.
