One big thing Ole Miss has going against them is how public this admission was will millions of viewers at the draft.
This will make the NCAA try and save face. All the other allegations and investigations the average person outside of SEC country doesn’t really hear or know about.
The whole country knows about this and the NCAA is aware of that.
I think they vacate some wins and lose a couple schollies a year for a 3-4 years.

USC got hammered because it was allowing agents around campus...more or less. Some of those agents made a house available for Bush and his family.
At OM, you are talking coaches paying players, among other things.
And, as I mention all the time, Mississippi just passed a law that has prompted the NCAA to try to prevent OM, State and Southern from even hosting a regional in baseball.
OM is low hanging fruit to get destroyed by the NCAA. This is literally the best case scenario for the NCAA in trying to point out it has teeth.

If all of this centers around Tunsil what did they do. They paid rent for his mother and gave some cash? It can be spun by Ole Miss it was just this once blah, blah. It's all about what the NCAA can prove remember that are not a court of law. No one swears an oath before speaking to them.

Finebaum update. Schlabach of ESPN just said Ole Miss officials told him day after the Tunsil news broke at the draft, that they (OM)didn't think the twitter screen shots were legit, paraphrasing.

5 years. All of those players played beyond the scope of that limitation so the NCAA couldn't go after Auburn. They can easily go after Ole Miss in this case.

Raven Gray Joined AU in 2008 that is well with in 5 years. So
Chaz Ramsey Freshmen year was 2007 which is also with in 5 years. So 2 then joined the team inside the 5 year window.

Except that Tunsil was told in messages that he was already paid the agreed amount or somesuch.

It does all come down to what the NCAA can prove. And Tunsil & his family won't be saying jack shite & can't be forced to; if the Black Bears clam up...unless there is a paper trail out there with regards to these payments...there is no proof. Much like Johnny Manziel not being found innocent; rather, the NCAA could not prove anything. Guess it could come down to just how much of a Christian Freeze really is: does he fess up or cover up?
