You do realize that Ole Miss cheats, too, right? I hope you aren't saying that Ole Miss is clean. I can think of a handful of kids from the past recruiting class that you should be thankful their recruitment is "overlooked by the NCAA".
Horse shite! If the NCAA had anything on Ole Miss they would shut it down.

Just curious but how is it that bama fans are always the first to hear of Gus's name being thrown around at other schools? Always bama fans that throw his name around.
Are you guys that scared of what is coming when Gus finally matures his QB and gets the depth of 3 or 4 top 5 classes at AU?

One of the Ole Miss posters mentioned Kevin Sumlin,
NO, NO, NO! I like Kevin Sumlin a lot. I'd hate that move.
He actually likes the Houston job and everybody at Houston likes him. If Houston makes the move to the Big East, he'll probably stay there unless an Oklahoma type job comes calling.

Also, UNC is better because it is a state school (like Ole Miss) in a BCS conference (like Ole Miss), but it is easier to win at UNC than at Ole Miss.
I agree with all of this but unc is a basketball school. Not that, that makes it a worse job than ole miss.
UNC is a better gig than OM. It's easier to win early in the ACC, and there are more resources at UNC. their basketball reputation is a tremendous to recruiting outside of the state...and being in a much bigger state, they have much more talent instate. SC and Clemson usually are able to poach NC talent, but Butch had slowed that down. Mack Brown had a perennial Top 10 program before he left for UTx. There is not enough talent in MS to sustain a good program alone and you'll never shut out Bama and LSU from the top instate recruits. But you can win at OM and it's a job that few coordinators would pass an opportunity to take over.

I'm not arguing against you about UNC vs ole miss but Mack Brown is an unbelievable recruiter and that says more about Brown than UNC. UNC has always been hit or miss as long as I can remember. Up one or two season down the next one or two.

i'll be honest. i'm pushing Clemson's Chad Morris hard to get a head coaching job. i didn't think he'd be able to have such an impact in such a short time, including help recruit Sammy Watkins from Florida to Clemson after being on the staff for just a few weeks. he was also hired by A&M (his alma mater) a few years ago as a consultant to install their offense. i'd love to see move on. now that UNC has hired the Tulsa AD (Bubba Cunningham), he'll have the insight on both Chad Morris and Gus Malzahan (both recently were the OC's for the Hurricanes) when he fills the open HC position for the Heels. but Bubba Cunnigham did pass over Morris to replace Todd Graham at Tulsa, but Morris's stock has really jumped this year. i think he'd do good at OM because OM needs to recruit in a wider region, including Texas, to be successful. Leach could do that too.

If I was an Ole Miss alum, I think I'd want Leach. Proven head coach, that made a non-powerhouse type school into a threat.
IMO, Gus or Kirby would be foolish to pass up a head coaching position @ Ole Miss.

Don't worry, he'll be our 1st choice if Gus leaves this year.

They would be stupid to go after Leach, though he is better than Nutt.
Smart is going to UGA IMO but OM is a solid starting job.
Tubs wants out of TTU, he's tired of dealing with Texas, kinda funny he left as he was tired of dealing with Alabama.
I think Tubs will turn up as a candidate for UNC.

It a lot harder to get a HC from being a DC because defense doesn't have the sex appeal, but defensive-minded head coaches are some of the best.
DCs still get the top jobs right now. Most of the top programs are still going after DCs instead of OCs.
I doubt Smart stays at UA, there is good indication he'll be offered or looked at for the UGA job, if he's offered he's gone.

Unless something huge happens we'll have Leach.

UNC has made some really crappy coaching hires between Mack Brown and Butch Davis. With the exception of Butch, they don't fire a coach until he completely runs the program into the ground, so there is nothing to build on. Mack started slow, going 2-20 in his first 2 years. Last year, Butch had 9 players taken in the NFL draft. He was putting something together, but definitely let it get out of control. Their AD that just retired was a patsy for the basketball coaches. Butch had the clout to assume more power. Their next coach will have more oversight than Butch, especially for academic integrity, which is why Butch got fired. But the new UNC AD from Tulsa is real AD CEO, like Foley or McGarity. They wanted our AD who played football at UNC, but I've heard that they were also interested in someone that didn't have ties to UNC so that they wouldn't be influenced by internal politics, which was smart. The new AD comes from a football school and understand that a successful football program is most critical to running an athletic department, even at a basketball school like UNC. ...especially since the ACC has expanded w/ Pitt & Syracuse. He'll make a good hire for their football coach.

Auburn's job is hire up on the ladder than Clemson and this is something that many have looked at as a natural line of progression anyway, not saying it will happen but there is a strong chance of it.
Also Dabo is on a short leash at Clemson, he hasn't done much to ender himself to the fanbase, he makes another slip up like last year and he'll be gone, I honestly thought he'd be gone this year but the team made a strong improvement with the new OC.

Where are you getting this from? I have a family member that works for the university, in the loop most of the time. He hears there will be no changes. AD or HC. So I am confused...
