This is like when someone running for bumfrick town school board bases their campaign on standing up to the DC swamp and supporting the troops

Were guys not standing for the anthem at OM or MTSU this season?
Seems pretty random otherwise.

They shouldn't be on one knee.
They should be on both knees. With their head bowed. And making the sign of the cross. Or whatever the fuk baptists do. On high holidays one of the players should ceremoniously blow a congressman.
God bless big brother er Merica. Gawdammit.

It's odd that he feels a need to push this issue publicly.
Completely unprompted
I'd understand if someone brought it up, but he is politicizing his basketball program which doesn't seem like a smart move

If this keeps anyone who would protest the national anthem away from our school, I'm fine with it.
Or may support those who do in the pros? Let's see how OM does when they play that integrated Texas Western team.

Probably just trying to give all the old conservatives in the state the warm and fuzzies.

Do the teams even stand out there for this?
Have you ever been to a college basketball game?

Your African American athletes wear OLE MISS across their chests. They obviously couldn't care less

Given the school we are talking about, this isn't the flag I was expecting to read about.

I don't think he is talking about that flag
So weird to think that picture is from the late 1990s, and not the 1960s.

With Memphis starting back up, this was probably the last thing that he needed to do.
With that being said, it's dumb that this is riling people up in the first place.

I guess I respect his stance, but if I'm a coach, especially a new one that is trying to develop new recruiting ties, I'd leave politics out of the public's eye when I can.
Seems stupid for him to just bring this discussion/debate on himself.
My first thought.
