I've made my feelings known about how overrated I think Kiffin is, but he was absolutely right in that exchange. Kid didn't like his role on the team, and then stayed away from the team despite the football staff repeatedly reaching out to him.

Like Kiffin said, the kid is a pussy.

$10 million compensatory and $30 million punitive. Would love to see how they came up with these numbers.

I read the complaint in its entirety. He's apparently had undiagnosed issues with depression and anxiety for the better part of 2 years due to injuries and these issues were exacerbated by the death of his grandmother. His lawyer emphasizes that he "never knew" the could get a mental health screening or wasn't led to it. Again, a quick google of Ole Miss Mental Health will lead you straight to the counseling center in the middle of campus and on it's website, it says services are free of charge to all students.

He had access, he refused to use it. And the timing of the recording is interesting as well as it happens after a coach had an honest conversation with him about playing time and how he wouldn't get it here. Again, I feel for him and his plight. Depression is a bitch. But if his complaint is his strongest evidence of discrimination, he doesn't have a strong case, regardless of how much of a dipshit Kiffin is.

The kid has also not lost his scholarship. So he arguably hasn't even incurred damages.

But the problem for Kiffin is, he’s white. He’s already lost this.

At what point do the smaller programs decide the potential lawsuits aren’t worth
the risk and drop sports all together ? He is an adult and responsible for his own
decisions. It appears his Mom knew about his issues. Did she not insist he seek care ?

If an arse chewing from Kiffin is worth that in damages, Alabama is about to go bankrupt.

Supposedly she called an athletic trainer saying he was suffering a mental health crisis and asked him to get a counselor to speak to him and monitor him (per ESPN article).

This is a tough one for me. I like Kiffin and I definitely think they knew he would react the way he did in the recording (allegedly). Will be interesting to see what happens over the next couple days in regards to his teammates.

Stop calling them kids…

These are supposed to be grown arse men. Society wants to hand a 6 year old a phone with access to all the “adult” things in the world but when they are over 18 all of a sudden they are “kids” again?

frick that and the “adult” beverage he’s been drinking along with the “adult” substances he is obviously on. Anyone encouraging these bogus lawsuits should be counter sued for defamation and fraud.

Next they will be suing cause the coach didn’t wipe their arse for them.

Did you read the transcript of the recorded phone conversation?

Ummm yeah, tad rough but nothing completely out of line considering the following:

1) The kid decided he needed a two week mental health break. What company authorizes their subordinates to arbitrarily take time off without their direct supervisors permission?
2) The kid ignored the staffs request to meet with the Head Coach. If you disrespectfully ignored your bosses requests to meet would the eventual meeting be contentious?

On side note their claim discrimination is based on that white female volleyball ans softball players were allowed mental health breaks at the same time period. Did those programs deny black female players health breaks?

Except he was meeting with the Associate AD about it….who is Kiffin’s boss. She also advised him he needed it, per the suit.

What a ridiculous lawsuit. Kiffin was right to kick this kid off the team.
