I think tu fans are used to sucking so it won't really be a shock, but Sooner fans are easily the most delusional on this board and are going to be in a world of hurt and confusion.

They lose to Kansas State and/or Iowa State almost every year. Yet they think that they are the best program in the country behind Alabama. Seriously. Even when they are a sacrificial lamb in the playoffs to an SEC team. The talent they play week in and week out in the Big 12 is just laughably bad and they don't want to admit it. So they perpetuate things like "the Big 12 is top to bottom better than the SEC, it's Georgia and Bama and everyone else."

Ole Miss and Mississippi State have more NFL players than literally any team OU will play this year, and OU fans think they'd beat them at a better rate than they beat Kansas State. It's so strange. They think they'll beat Auburn and LSU 9 out of 10 times. It's mind bottling.

So OU moving to the SEC isn't going to help recruiting, and revenues? OU won't be able to improve, is that it?

So you're admitting that as-is, you'd need to massively improve to be competitive? And that over the past 20 years you'd have a MUCH worse record playing an SEC West schedule instead of a Big 12 schedule? Instead of going 11-1 you'd be 7-5 more often than not?

Glad we are on the same page.

9-3 as we sit now. Could be 10-2 could be 8-4. UGA and BAMA are the only teams that are head and shoulders above OU. Not acceptable, but I think OU will get there.
And yes, the rest of the SEC isn't terrifying, OU could beat or get beat by many of them. So sure?

We’re we supposed to go undefeated? Wonder what the other expansion teams’ records were in their last season in the Big 12…

Texas A&M 2011: 7-6
Missouri 2011: 8-5 (not bad, Mizzou)

For good measure:
Arkansas 1991: 6-6
Shhhhhhhhhhh.

You're making entirely too much sense and ruining OP's narrative that he so desperately needed to get attention this morning

LSU has three national titles in the past 20 years, recruits better than OU, and has a much better home field advantage. You really think that LSU wouldn’t have been 15-5 against OU the past twenty years? This is just laughable.

Your premise is lacking if you assume we want them irrespective of their records.

I mean they were 13-7 against Arkansas in that time. You think Oklahoma is worse than Arkansas?

No reason to project A&M's lack of success against LSU on others.

Yes I do, the main reason OU has missed out on getting top end d-line talent is not being in the SEC. If we have been in the SEC the past 20 years, I think things would have been a lot different. Within 5 years OU should be competing for SEC championships.
Gone are the years of domination, no doubt, but OU is a blueblood with great support, and once we can rid the stigma of playing in a crap conference, our defensive recruting will be tons better, ie the 2023 class.

The Razorbacks first game of the 1992 season, their first year being in the SEC, lost to The Citadel.

I like Arkansas and their fans. But if I must go down that route, I will.

It’ll take a couple of years of recruiting his type of players and develop the culture. OU also played poorly. They’ll be a very good team by November.

crazy concept, I know, but I suppose we'll only know for sure when they get here and play a SEC schedule

We lost to Texas am. I'm not sure we're ready either. Losing to big 12 teams is embarassing.

Okay, so you're saying "hypothetical" OU would have been 15-5 against LSU over the past two decades, but the versions of OU you watched the past twenty years, you know would have been 4-16 at best. Okay. As long as we are on the same page about the actual dog shite program you've watched, not some hypothetical version.

Two SEC teams lost to those two schools in bowl games last year. Miss St and Louisiana St. are they ready?

Lsu lost to KState by 20+ this year.

Dip shite. LSU was down to about 30'ish players on the sidelines for that game. At least they had the intestinal fortitude to show. Not everyone can forfeit and find ways to get out of games like your shite horn school.
