must be nice gearing up for one big game a year. Imagine playing good teams almost every week in conference. hmm.

The SEC is top heavy, teams 3-14 are good-average-terrible

Those 3-14 teams have also won NC in football in the last 20 years.

The SEC is top heavy, but deeper than you think

quote:

OU at the least will be in top tier every season.

Not even Alabama can say that, and they are the all-time best program.

The SEC has 6 of the top 18 programs in wins:

Alabama
Tennessee
Georgia
Auburn
LSU
Florida

all have won NC since 1998 (Tennessee), half have won multiple NC.

Last ten years in bowls for the major conferences (2010-2019)

SEC ACC Big Ten Big 12 Pac 10/12
2010 5-5 4-5 3-5 3-5 2-2
2011 6-3 2-6 4-6 6-2 2-5
2012 6-3 4-2 2-5 4-5 4-4
2013 7-3 5-6 2-5 3-3 6-3
2014 7-5 4-7 6-5 2-5 6-3
2015 9-2 4-6 5-5 3-4 6-4
2016 6-7 9-3 3-7 4-2 3-3
2017 5-6 4-6 7-1 5-3 1-8
2018 6-6 6-5 5-4 4-3 3-4
2019 8-2 4-7 4-5 1-5 4-3
Total 65-42 46-53 41-48 35-37 37-39
Win % 60.75% 46.46% 46.07% 48.61% 48.78

The rest of the SEC will take OU's head off if they are not careful. Think of it like this, OU plays Texas, then Oklahoma State, then Kansas, and then Oklahoma State again. That is what an SEC schedule is like.

To think OU will finish every season in the top half is foolish in the extreme

Exactly my point, OU gets top talent every year. We’ll be on par with the best in the SEC. That being said, it’s not just recruiting that is the deciding factor. Developing said blue chip talent for OU will keep us reloaded every season.

And has won how many NC in the last 25 years?
Texas gets top talent as well, see how they are doing.

quote:

So therefore, the whole “Oklahoma isn’t ready for the SEC” argument is null and void

Until OU wins a playoff game or shows they can compete at the middle level of the conference, they are not ready for the SEC.

OU's time in the Big 12 has given OU fans a false sense of accomplishment. You do know the only conference without a playoff victory right?

If Texass wasn’t dragging you guys along…. OU wouldn’t get an invite.

Just the truth.

I have a hard time believing that Texas AM did not know. It may not have been broadcast publicly, but Texas AM knew.

You are right about Texas schools not having pull, each school has one vote, majority rules. Alabama wanted Georgia Tech to come back, voted down, Alabama wanted a 9 game SEC schedule, voted down.

I really can not wait until Texas and Oklahoma join and play an SEC schedule, talk about fun Saturday watching.

Can you imagine a Saturday lineup like this?

Ole Miss/OU
Tennessee/Texas
Georgia/LSU
Alabama/Florida
MSU/Texas AM
Auburn/Arkansas
USCe/Kentucky
Vanderbilt/Mizzou

This KILLS me to say, but at least OU understands that defense matters in the SEC. They will bring a balanced team in 2025, while Sark is focused on B12 football and nothing but the offense.

I think OU will be fine. (I need to go barf now)
