Well, I can't give you much of a prediction for this one, but I imagine those boys wearing crimson and cream are in for a long day.

Josh Heupel on the road vs the SEC teams that finished > .500

2021 : 1-2 (W : Kentucky) (L : Florida, Alabama)
2022 : 1-2 (W : LSU) (L : Georgia, South Carolina)
2023 : 1-2 (W : Kentucky) (L : Alabama, Missouri) (also lost to 5-7 Florida)

3-6 overall, 1-6 vs everyone not named Kentucky.

But sure, Oklahoma has no shot or something.

I would agree with you if we didn't have the line of
scrimmage edge on both sides.

This is Heupel's first real roster as far as I'm concerned.

The month of August is always a long one. I've got 14 acres to keep me busy, but the fact that CFB kicks off at the end of the month really makes these dog days drag along.

After several decades of this, I find it hard to intelligently discuss an upcoming game without 2-3 games already in the books. I would expect the Okies to give UT a good fight, in any case. It's just what they do.

If UT walks into Norman with this big "yo SEC newbie" complex, they'll get paddled - I don't care how the talent breaks out on paper.

Come to play. Both teams.

Norman is one of the toughest places in the country to leave with a win...not talking about how loud the stadium is or anything like that....Oklahoma just rarely ever loses a home game.

apparently OU rarely loses in Knoxville too - even trailing by 14 to start the 4Q -

So I'm guessing Oklahoma fans can say the same thing about this year's roster for Venables then, right?

Yeah another Butch Jones classic. On paper, they should have never needed to comeback nor overtime to beat us though in that game. Dobbs and Barnett both carried that team on their backs on each side of the ball.

But Josh Dobbs vs Baker Mayfield was must see TV.

Year 3 in the BV defense and getting Nico early? I would imagine OU won't show to much in the first 3 games then throw a bunch at UT. IF and it is the biggest IF OU's oline can keep Arnold off the mat, I like OU to win.

But honestly, no one know, with young QB's we will see it all this year.

Before injuries OU had one of the best run defenses in the country the whole first half of the season. The DL and LBs are better this year. Don’t expect to run on OU lol.

It's just funny to me that it took an OU National Champion QB as their HC to give the Tennessee fanbase an ounce of confidence and the spine to talk shite to one of the winningest programs in history.

Bull...Tennessee was talking crap before playing Oklahoma when Butch Jones was Head Coach, too.

Half of this board is going to be full of Tennessee-OU pissing contests if someone doesn't take the keys away from OP

What do you think your team will accomplish when the Vols come to town? No trash talking just give me some numbers.

I am not going to predict anything because I have no idea where to start.

I need to see both teams, and JA and Nico play a few games first. Right now, Nico has the upper hand based only on the bowl games. By the way, did you know they share the same birth date - September 2nd, 2004?

New OC for OU. Can he manage the clock better than Lebby did? That is a low bar.

Our o-line has experience, but not as a unit. I have no idea at this juncture how they will perform.

Our running backs have "potential", but they haven't shown a lot yet.

The WR room is stacked, but someone has to get them the ball.

DL also unproven as a unit.

The LBs and DBs are pretty highly rated as a group. I think Phil Steele ranked both units #1 in the SEC.

I'm expecting a seat squirmer. I'm hoping OU comes out on top.

My mind may change between now and then after I see how well each team handles their first 3 games.

Who pissed in your Cheerios?

OU is a tough out at home. Since 2000, we’ve had more conference championships (14) than home losses (12). Of those 12 losses, only 3 have been by double digits. OP predicting a 21-point home loss is a stretch.

OU and Tennessee both have too many question marks to make any intelligent guesses about that final score. On paper, OU has more talent and will be in front of their home crowd, so if I were betting I’d put them at a 3-7 point favorite. Ask me 3 games in and that answer could be drastically different.

OU is a great program. But don’t pretend that the majority of your league competition is anything close to what Tennessee has played historically
