We do have some great young uns. We just have no competent OC and this no offense

Passing yards per game — 165.7 (123rd)
Yards per attempt — 5.8 (127th)
Yards per completion — 9.5 (130th)
Sacks per game — 3.2 (116th)
# of 20-yard passing plays — 8 (T-132nd)

This is Christmas for DC’s:

Oklahoma has gained 20+ yards on 3.4% of its offensive plays this season.

Per TruMediaSports, that percentage currently ranks third-worst among all P4 offenses over the past decade.

On positive note we have the best 2 losses in country to #1 and #8 lol

Sellers is dog shite and is coached by Dowell Lowgains but he at least tries to throw the ball.

I’ll take SC 17-10

I don’t know the line but it’s hard to see OU doing much at all offensively . I know the defense will play much better because Venables wasn’t very happy about the effort and missed tackles vs Texas …. 10-10 type of game .

Both teams need a win bad. I was hoping OU over SCar but now I’m undecided. Just wish USCe would have pulled out a win over Bama.

Obviously this offense is skewed by non conference because Tenn has done jack shite in the sec on offense . I would like a sec only list I bet OU is near the bottom on offense .

a battle of the two worst 3rd down offenses in the SEC -

Carolina somehow managed to convert 7/10 in 2H at Alabama after 0/5 in 1H - otherwise USC was on pace to supplant OU as worst in the SEC -

Season -
SC - 28/84 - 33.3%
OU - 22/82 - 26.8%

this one could set a record for most punts in a single game for the SEC -

Gamecocks are averaging 23.0 ppg in its 4 SEC games - Sooners 15.0 in their 3 SEC games -

Line opened at OU -7.5.

Now the line is OU -2.5

Would not be surprised to see SC favored in a day or 2

We need a miraculous improvement on offense to win this game. But on the other hand if Sooners lose this game we are looking at 1-5 record for the second half of the season, and it will be because of the OU offense

Our fans are always so negative...and I get it to an extent. It sucks to be like 7 points away from 5-1, but I mean the only bad game we had was ole miss.

I do think we are good team that just doesnt know how to win in key moments. So I don't see OU blowing us out.

I think it will be like a 31-28 type game. I can't say which way though.

One thing we have is a punter! That guy is a fricking weapon!! We just have no offensive identity. We should improve by keeping Hawkins under center and repetitions. Plus oline continuity. But jeepers, we have no plan on offense. And whenever something works we go away from it.

These are historic futility numbers. Its not a one game fluke. And yet somehow Seth Littrell still has his job on Monday. Brent now assumes the heat since he’s not acted on it and its been bad all year. Too late to make changes too.

OU’s offense looked bad against Texas but the Texas defense is outstanding this year and Oklahoma will not face another defense of that caliber this year. I think OU wins this one.

If we get lucky we can earn a low tier bowl game. And same for Pokes, not sure if both can make it in. But if both do I wonder if the bowl committee will force a Bowl Bedlam? Might be only way to inject excitement lol.

And look at Gundy, his team os a mess worse than OU and now he’s dodging pressers and using Zoom video:

Was interested so I made my own version. Defense is on the Y, Offense is on the X. Metrics used were Total Offense, Scoring Offense, Passing Offense, Rushing Offense. For Defense it was the Same, Total, scoring, Passing and rushing. I averaged the scores across all SEC teams for both offense and defense. I then subtracted the teams score from the average and plotted the results on a scatter plot.

EDIT: Realized my data axis were revered from the original. Corrected.

Edit: And the raw data for those that are interested.

Old Dominion was an awful game as well. ODU is only 2-4 and SC honestly should have lost that game. Ole Miss was an embarrassing effort. If we beat LSU or Alabama then I think the attitude of the fanbase would be much better, but it's not. Beamer has yet to win an SEC road game against a team other than Kentucky or Vanderbilt. Pretty telling stat quite honestly.

Ole miss was embarrassing offensively. Defensively it was a pretty solid game.

ODU was really rough, but it was game 1 and we bounced back great the next week.

LSU and Bama definitely sting. We had every chance to win those games. With that said, we do play hard and don't quit. Maybe OU beats us by 20...wouldnt be the first time we got whipped, but I just dont think this team lets that happen...I also don't think they blow out OU.
