I see a conflict of interests in that Bro. Doesn't Sarkisian call the offense? I don't see him ready to give that up just yet.

I agree on the OC part. He doesn't seem ready to give that up yet.

I could see him hiring him as an advisor though. Put him in charge of the Red Zone offense.

I didn’t expect it mid season either. But he has lost 11 of his last 12 games. That’s a bad run. He could easily have lost the rest of the games this season too.

Would surprise me if he coaches anywhere else. That dude is Okie lite to the bone marrow.

I could see him getting TV gigs though with a broadcast network.

His own son transferred out of Pokie State lol.

He actually did great with finding undervalued gems and misfits and made it work. Could do well in right situation. Ne also lost his best DC to tOSU a few years ago.

My guess is any job he takes will be in the region. He has roots in OK so would not want to move is my guess. He did put up his $12m ranch for sale a year or so ago not sure if it ever sold.

That one year he was in cusp of BCS. Lost to ISU on road. Night before the OSU basketball team plane crashed headed to a game and killed all on board. That weighed on him and team and they were flat vs ISU game.

Although they suck now thats because they didn’t start NIL until last Dec. Given time he would have got them back in contention as money kicked in. It seemed like logical choice but beware what you ask for. Its not an easy place to recruit and get good coaches. At best you get a young one (cheaper to help pay buyout) but once they do good they’ll be gone without same loyalty as Gundy.

In 5 years they might look back and regret this decision. I heard on local sports radio yesterday early evening and a OSU ex player and donor was on. He was asking how you move on gracefully - do it while maintaining and respecting what Gundy did. He felt they likely should move on after season but was curious how they can do so respectfully. This guy really didn’t want to see him fired in season and had a lot of respect for Mike. I can imagine he is devastated over him getting fired like that.

They are in a pickle. Tells other coaches even an alumni all time best school coach can be fired in season so that will be hard to recruit coaches with less connection.

I thought they were positioned pretty well to be the big fish in the new big 12. I bet they thought that too.

He could've been fired just for all the dumb shiite he has uttered.

But yeah, his teams have sucked now for a good while, and that's the bottom line.

OSU is not Clemson. Relatively speaking it is somewhat the same. Clemson has totally different expectations and would not tolerate losing as long as OSU has.
