On Monday, Jan. 9, LSU will bring the nation's longest winning streak - 14 straight - into the Allstate National BCS Championship game versus No. 2 Alabama. Should they win, LSU will be the first team to beat nine Associated Press top 25 teams in one season.

Fact!

LULZ.

This coming from a fan whose OP got so many facts wrong, it is laughable.

Not to mention a team that claims, what, 15 titles, the majority of which were RETROACTIVE.

PS - For gumps here, retroactive means that you rewrote history to claim the titles.

Gumps = a combination of ignorance/arrogance.

Bad combo.

Lsu has played 6 teams currently ranked. With a good shot of one dropping out in the final poll. the top five to match your top five Bama 2009.. and you included the BCSNC so will i

11-2 Bama finish #2 most likely
11-2 Bama #2 currently
11-2 Oregon # 5 currently
10-2 Arky #6 currently
10-3 Georgia #16 currently
9-3 West Virginia #23 currently

already put Bama's bowl loss and i believe the four others will go 3 -1 in the bowls...

combined records of 65-15 - 81.25% winning percent.. now that is an Apples to Apples fair comparison...... and also Bama never held a perfect 1.000 % in the BCS rankings and no one has ever had that this late in the season...

Just Admit is... When LSU beats Bama again LSU will have the VERY BEST RESUME of any college football team ever and hands down has the most depth and talent EVER and will at least be in the TOP FIVE ALL TIME BEST TEAMS!!!!

9-4 Ole Miss #20 when played #20 after Bowl game

I love how you include the championship game as a point of comparison with LSU, when LSU has not played in the championship game.

So basically, your best matchup is not comparable. Take that one out and Bama played only 4 ranked teams.

11-1 Bama #2 currently
11-2 Oregon # 5 currently
10-2 Arky #6 currently
10-3 Georgia #16 currently
7-5 Auburn #25 currently
9-3 West Virginia #23 currently

I love how you didn't include their rankings at the time LSU played them like you did for Bama.

LSU played THREE teams in the TOP THREE during the REGULAR SEASON, and TWO OF THE THREE were ROAD GAMES.

Alabama had one game during the regular season against a Top 10 opponent (much less a top three opponent), and that was Va. Tech. That game is comparable to LSU's matchup with Oregon, and Oregon 2011 >>> Virginia Tech 2009.

Hell, if W.Va. wins their bowl game, that game is probably more comparable than Oregon.

This whole silly exercise is hysterical, though.

I remember watching the 2009 Bama team celebrate on the miracle at Tennessee. I also watched the bogus call on PP7 that cost LSU the game, and then you had the Auburn game that went down to the wire. Not to mention, if Colt McCoy doesn't get hurt, Texas continues to run up the score like they were doing when he got hurt. I don't even remember most of the others.

All 4 of those could have been easy losses. The only time this LSU team has played close was when they went into the #2 team's house and beat them. LSU is a juggernaut. In bama fan's hearts, they know there's no comparison...regardless of what is said.

Well, we played bama at bama, georgia in Georgia, and the hardest September I have ever seen with three road games to ranked teams.

9 ranked teams total.

And we have to play the best bama team in the HISTORY of the universe AGAIN

11 lsu >>>>>>>>> 09 bama

Sorry

Oh, 9-6

Didn't even score a touchdown.

Is this a moral victory in your mind or something. What you should be saying is "LSU didn't even need to score a touchdown"

Do t think comparing what ranked teams are beaten is a great indicater of the best teams of all time simply because the top 25 this yr outside of 3 teams suck and all but two have been beaten badly. In my life time ithink the best team ever might be the Nebraska teams of the mid 90's who had great offenses and defenses. LSU and Bama are both very stout defensive teams but our offenses don't scare anyone.

Bama 2009 played 10 teams with winning records, 5 of which ranked in the top 20 at the end of the season and had a larger winning percentage against opponents.

And had close games against at least four of those teams (#17 LSU, #20 Ole Miss, 7-6 Tennessee, 8-5 Auburn), plus only won two games against teams in the top 3.

quote:

Lsu 2011 has played 7 teams with winning records, 5 of which ranked in the top 25 at the end of the regular season and had a smaller winning percentage against opponents.

And hasn't been challenged in any game except one (#2 Alabama), has won three games against teams in the top 3, and, in order for this debate even to occur, will have to win a fourth on January 9th.

Oh brother ,LMAO ,the guy just laid the facts at your door and you are going to argue that which cant be argued ?

I have know for months this argument was asinine ,ignorant, foolish ! You choose the adjective ,want proof ?The Top 200 teams of all time ,as rated by a famous computer poll, that is still used by the BCS. Bama 2009 passed a team ( Nebraska 71)
that had held the BEST ALL TIME MANTLE for 40 years ....take a gander and then SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Billingley top 200 teams all time

I am not getting into the greatest team ever arguement, because this is basically a stat driven debate since these teams can't play. This computer poll does have the 04 Auburn team ranked high, for a team that didn't even play for the championship. According to most Bama arguemnts, he would not be creditable since he has Oklahouma at #2. But I guess everyone uses whatever document supports their current debate.

The logic is completely befuddling in that Bama fans somehow think that is something to pound their chest over.
