I get tired of hearing how the Packers are a "cold weather team". They have played 2 games this year with a temp below 40 and Rodgers did not play in one. They have a weak running game and a defense that relies on TO's. Rodgers is a good QB, but he is from California. Players do not become somehow great in the cold just because they play for the Packers. I seem to remember that last year they were spared to many cold games as well. In my opinion the field coditions matter more to most teams than the temperature.
The Saints need to take it 1 game at a time, but if the time comes to head to GB to play...they will be fine.

I admit that "crap" is a bit strong. I do feel that AR is the only other consideration, but I feel Brees deserves it more. He has set records that earned all the the previous holders the MVP.
Rodgers has a higher QB rating, but the QBR rating is a much better stat. It accounts for among other things, interceptions that are not the QB's fault, such as bouncing off a receivers hands, or the receiver blowing the route. Rodgers QBR is 1 point above Drew, a practical draw. Rodgers advantage comes from running the ball. I am not knocking this as a skill...just pointing out a fact.
When you notice how Flynn was able to succeed in the offense, it makes a person wonder about Rodgers value. Look back on 2008 when Brady was out and the Patriots won 10 games. Now look at the Colts without Manning. Who do you think is more valuable?

It is crap that AR is probably going to win the MVP. I believe the number one factor in peoples mind is last years playoffs and Super Bowl victory. I realize that no one will say that and that the award is supposed to be about this year only, I am convinced that if the Packers had lost in the first round last year, Drew would be a sure thing at MVP.
The popular pick would be USC, but I am saying some Big Ten team who makes it through an easy schedule unscathed, and then gets lucky in the BCSNCCG.

re: John Gruden picks Bama over the LSU

I enjoy watching Gruden do film breakdown, but I am getting very tired of him on MNF. He praises everyone with such hyperbole that it is nauseating. I think Jaws is sick of it and I am just waiting for him to go off on Gruden.
All it takes to get a bama fan to post a positive article on LSU is to make sure that the piece insults Auburn and gives praise to Bama. No surprise here.

Personally, I am scared of the Saints, anything that can not only survive but thrive in that **** hole of a city isn't normal. After a nuclear Armageddon only two things will survive, cockroaches and the Saints.

This is an ignorant and horrible thing to say about one of the greatest cities in the world. Atlanta is such a "gem".

The Oregon speed and tempo might have given bama more trouble than it did LSU because LSU is faster at LB and rotates more depth in the defense. I don't think it is a given that bama wins this game. It's not a good matchup for bama.

I have no problem with Rogers beating out Brees for the MVP, but there is no way the Brady should be ahead of Brees. Not in schedule, not in stats. This is not a career award. It is about this season. The Brady love is stupid and old.
We lost to 3 NFC teams and they only lost to 2, so they win the tie-breaker of best conference record.

I more win...either game. Of course if we win both and SF loses one..than we have the number 2 position

One of the most impressive stats for TR is his lack of fumbles. Does he have any on the year?

He fumbled the second play of the LSU game after his 20yd pass reception when Reid popped him, but the ball rolled out of bounds...not sure if that counts.

Addai, Joseph Indianapolis Colts LSU
Faulk, Kevin New England Patriots LSU
Murphy, Richard Jacksonville Jaguars LSU
Ridley, Stevan New England Patriots LSU
Williams, Keiland Detroit Lions LSU
Hester, Jacob San Diego Chargers LSU

Ingram, Mark New Orleans Saints Alabama
McClain, Le'Ron Kansas City Chiefs Alabama

Of all LSU's backs, only Faulk was a real college RB star. The rest were part of a team of backs. Something that LSU has been doing for awhile.

As a fan it is hard to convey how comforting it is to have a number of great backs. They might all be stars if they got 30 carries a game, but the fact that no one back with a bad day or a twisted ankle will put us in a huge hole. Imagine how much an injury to TR would hurt Bama's chances. There is also no stress about a back leaving early for the NFL.
The only line that maters in Vegas is the initial line, and even that can be dubious. Vegas wants action on both sides of the bet and they set a line designed to get even money on both sides so they can make money. If one side gets to much action, for whatever reason, then the line will shift. This has little to do with who will win...

Silly post

I did not know that this posting was only about college. Still, Ohio is the cradle of football..there is no doubt.
No. The state with the most great coaches is by far Ohio. Ohio is the birthplace of modern football. There is a reason the Hall of Fame is located there. While the level of player might have dropped a little lately. The level of coaching has not.
The NFL is loaded with Ohio natives, but lets look at just college. Both Woody Hayes and Bo Schembeclar are from Ohio. Urban Meyer, Bob Stoops, and Les Miles grew up in Ohio. Recent title-winner Jim Tressel, as are Nebraska's Bo Pelini and Missouri's Gary Pinkel. The list of coaches with Ohio ties includes Alabama's Nick Saban, who played at Kent State and coached at Toledo, and USC's Pete Carroll, who was an Ohio State assistant in 1979.
Less than 4% of the country's population lives in Ohio, but 15% of college football's major-conference head coaches were born there -- the most for any state. And this volume is more than matched by quality: 14 of the last 18 teams that have made it to the national title game have had head coaches with Ohio connections.
it makes geographic sense...but no..it will not happen.

Craig James appears to be a liar and a hypocrite. No thinking person who looks into the issues at Texas Tech, could come to any other conclusion.

We should change the name of the stadium the day we change our uniforms
