So much popcorn if true.

Still not quite as tasty as Petrinogate was though.

Two significant OSU Boosters of Substance have indicated that the Buckeyes could weather any of the short term consequences of letting Urban off with a short suspension and in house "retraining". They have also made it known to the Board of Trustees that losing Urban would seriously affect recruiting & relegate OSU to 2nd tier status behind PSU and Michigan.

I doubt that the BOT recommends anything substantive to Urban beyond a token game suspension. Gene Smith will probably have to fall on his sword.

The problem is not the affair but as a pubic institution there may be legal liability. Bobby Petrino would probably still be on the staff at Arkansas if he had just been having an affair. When you mix in public institutions and public funds the affair is no longer the same and can open the university up to large legal damages. More importantly a singular case can cause more to come forward which just multiplies the legal exposure.

As in most of these cases, firing occur much more for the cover ups (greater legal liability) than the actual misconduct.

Only thing missing is a motorcycle and it would be perfect.

Unless McMurphy has another bullet to fire, there’s no way OSU recommends anything of substance.

At some point if Meyer has consulted a good PR Firm (and listens) he will have a press conf explaining “his” side of things followed by image rebuild tour on ESPN. Depends on if he got scared by this thing if he is willing to do that or if his ego won’t let him.

As for media, they’ll fall back in line and ball wash the guy. For us fans, just another reason to pull against an OSU.
