"Scandal" is going to be brought back up in about 3 days when the #1 basketball team in the country plays on national TV in the Sweet 16. Then probably again on Sunday when they play in the Elite 8, and hopefully again for another weekend as they play in Houston.

I think most of it found it hilarious. Not sure why you don't. It was objectively funny to see Jimbo initially be like "eh we'll see" then remember that he can't say that and jump in after the reporter had moved on and say I MEAN BOBBY IS CALLIN PLAYS THATS WHAT I SAID. Come on, how can you not chuckle at that?
We literally watched Saban defend Pete fvckin Golding at the mic for 4 years. I think you'll survive a lil bit of Jimbo publicly struggling to admit he ain't the offensive guy anymore. It ain't a big deal.

Almost all coaches do some variation of this, though, especially when they feel like their scheme is being questioned. I think a lot of these guys get more prideful about the scheme they run (especially if they have a very specific "scheme" that they've succeeded with their entire career) than if they personally are questioned.
