I think Jimbo has seen enough teams go down the drain offensively because the HC couldn’t step away and let someone else call the offense. He has to recognize the need to change and evolve, and Bobby’s the guy to do it.

That sounds good but what happens when it's 3rd and short on the road late in the 4th quarter and Jimbo wants to run a specific play and Bobby wants something different?

Fireworks.

Boosters kinda told Jimbo to kick rocks in that department so it’s all on Bobby now.

What are the consequences if Jimbo doesn't listen to the boosters?

Thanks to Bjorne, Jimbo has a $75 mil trump card over said boosters. He’s gonna run whatever the frick he wants and they’re gonna have to foot the bill.

How did LSU lose to that piece of garbage football team and brainless head coach?

Jimbo gave Petrino his balls in a vise.

If the year dosen't go well, all he has to say is that Jimbo is interfering with him calling the offense. Bye bye Jimbo, Hello Coach Petrino.

Sorry to disappoint you guys but the boosters do not run the football program at A&M like they do at donghorn university.

If the Board of Regents and the AD at A&M wanted to get a different coach, Jimbo's buyout would be the least of their problems.

BTW, the AD is Ross Bjork not Bjorne. At least try to get something right when you post.

So, they're telling Jimbo what to run on 3rd and short, but don't run the football program???
I like the Aggies, but even you guys have to admit this arrangement isn't the answer.

After last season, Jimbo got some strays from boosters/administration/t12th Man for his offensive playcalling. That's why we had to look for an offensive coordinator because we pressed onto Jimbo that he can not call plays anymore.

IMO, even though I wasn't excited about the Bobby hire at first, he's probably one of the OC's in the nation that can stand up to Jimbo and tell him to go away anytime he has a suggestion.

Bobby started running his own plays in spring practice so far, and players liked it a bit more than what Jimbo had. One of our best WR's (or one of the best on the team in terms of playmaking and leadership) Ainias Smith noted the change and said that this offense had a lot of tempo, and he hopes it results in touchdowns.

quote:

Texas A&M WR Ainias Smith on new OC Bobby Petrino: "A lot of tempo. A lot of speed. Hopefully, a lot of touchdowns."

Paying a lot of attention on what happens this spring, if y'all want, I can update

Here's your answer for you

The presumption is that a rational person would prefer team success over individual ego stroke associated with playcalling duties.

I also believe that Jimbo is rational, and prioritizes team success, and realized he could use help on the offensive side when it was suggested.

But if anyone doesn’t think he is rational person, that’s fine also.
