If Mathis or Daniels or someone turns out to be really good, its possible Newman never gets to start at Georgia.

I think it was 100% depending on how he did at Georgia. He could've cemented himself as a top pick if he went to Georgia and did good.
You could see teams reaching for him in the early 2nd, or you could see him dropping to the 3rd/4th round.
