Pope has literally never won a single NCAA tourney game in his entire coaching career. To say his resume is underwhelming would be putting it lightly.
If I were Craft, I would absolutely not pay him more than $2-3 million a year for 3 years. If he doesn’t get results during the contract length, show him the door. That being said, Barnhart is a an absolute fricking retard and is putting his AD position on the line by doing this.

NIL is going to continue to hit us all hard and it is getting into the coaching world too. No more cultivating players. It’s a different world and none of us can count on things being the way they were in the past. We almost got hosed ourselves—absent something oddball or much bigger $ it is going to get harder to hire a coach when they are having success regardless where they may be.

They just ended the KSR livestream on Youtube with a 30 second video of Pope rapping. It flashed back to the 5 journalists looking absolutely dejected and embarrassed, then ended.
It's freaking hilarious and very much reminded me of the horrible cringe videos that were released when Ark hired Morris.
