Again, why is he the only recruit that can't have parents buy him a car? If they have the money, go buy it and prove where you got the money from just like everyone else does.

If Alabama tries to pin this on Doug it is making a big mistake, he has a lot of support from other high school coaches and friends and is seen as a very clean coach. Dustin is likely the guy that will be targeted in this mess, but the people saying Doug is bad are clueless.

Maybe because it would be too much of a fricking hassle to even try to buy a car now? Seeing as how your own fricking fanbase would run VIN#'s on him and tag #'s on the car to identify the owner and shite like that. Then, your fanbase would throw him and his parents under the bus because if the "Opertion Red Dog" shite - that never amounted to a damn thing.

A: I still love Coach Goodwin like he was my coach. He was my coach all through all high school, all four years when I moved to Russellville. My feelings toward him haven't changed none. I don't like the fact that he's a grown man acting like a little kid about this. This is my decision. I go about it how I please. And it's his job as one of my coaches to be happy for whatever decision I make. That's how I felt he should've handled it instead of being mad because I didn't go to the school that he went to or the school he wanted me to go to.

He didn't deny all the crap attributed to him in Lee's article. He threw Calloway under the bus and looks horrible. His reputation is already taking a hit and I'm sure many are already looking at him in a different light.

Please show me where in the above selection does it explicitly state that Goodwin is on this theoretical underground Auburn Payroll.

FWIW, I don't think Doug is a bad man. I knew him before his days at Russelville - when Dustin was the QB at Demopolis HS. Doug is a damn good coach, and he always seemed to care for his players at Demopolis and they love him. Of course, none of them were ever good enough to be recruited to AU or UA....
Just sounds like the Goodwin's (Doug & Dustin) are giving Brent the cold shoulder now that he committed to his orginigal school UA.
I don't think Doug is on the payroll at AU - but I do think he would possibly steer a player to a certain school if it advanced his coaching career. And, when it all didn't work out at he thought it should, I could see him being displeased with the player in the end, much like Brent has stated in his interview.

Again, what does it matter if it's all legit? Emory Blake drives a hummer. Why does no one question him? Because he can prove where he got it from with no problem. Why can't Brent do this? Everyone else does.
