Florida is not a blue blood. Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas we are not but the next tier for sure, you are not a blue blood either then. Smart is probably the best coach right now..but when we had that(Urban Meyer) we won 2 titles..so not very different at all.

Ole Miss and Florida are equal in having a chance to win a championship. The cost of living in Gainesville is 19% higher and the taxes are 4.4% lower. Is Florida going to be willing to pay 15% more per year than Ole Miss? Nope.

You gotta stop trying to think.

Cost of living for someone making the median income would be 19% higher. Those costs are irrelevant to someone in the to .01% of income earners.

They can't afford it after the insane buy out they paid. They need an up and comer they can hire for under 3.5 mill a year for a few years till they get that money back.

Even FSU admitted today they can't afford it until next year.

I bet Next year will be much better and will have less competition to get a good head coach.

I don’t see Eli leaving for Florida. He makes 9 mil and this will get him a raise. I think he would be interested in Auburn if/when it opens. He will get a raise and stay imo, but who knows

WTF… are you high. Who the hell would say LSU and Utrans are bigger jobs than UF? Bama and OSU might be slightly favored with their football history but UF is a much better school overall than all those schools.

LSU and Tennessee..but nobody who knows football would claim they are far apart. All top tier jobs no doubt, both have plenty of money, big stadiums, have won multiple national titles and 7+ SEC titles. You can succeed at any of them as a good coach.

BetOnline's current odds to become the next Florida head coach:

If Florida has the resources, they should bet the farm on Lane Kiffin. With the talent in the state, he would restore them to the top of the SEC

I like Brohm, he’s from Louisville and played at Louisville though so he may be happy there if they can match. Watching the game Friday when they beat #2 Miami he’s 4-4 now against top 5 teams and that’s during his stops at Purdue and Louisville. Turned both those programs into winners in power conferences which is impressive

The name most Florida fans were mentioning early on as a replacement was Golesh who would probably be very interested in a P4 coaching job

Drink is a complete nerd -- and I love the guy. If I had a son, I would absolutely want him to be the coach, he just seems very decent.

I would hate to see what coaching at AU as HC would do to him.

Gruden lol. Not sure why any university would pursue him.

Most likely it will be the best HC in the Sunbelt.
Charles Huff would be an excellent choice at Florida.
