Another aggy trident post about lsu…… about us not being in a list that aggy isn’t on either.

I simply love the self awareness. 0.0

.500 teams are not relevant when you have people playing teams in the Big Ten West, etc.

Wins over top 25 FEI teams:
-Ohio State: 2
-Bama: 4
-UGA: 1
-UM: 0
-FSU: 3
-Oregon: 1
-UW: 1
-Texas: 2

Side note: everyone is underselling that K State win Texas just picked up, they’ve snuck up to FEI #6 right now even after the loss.

Now weight it with game control, overall SOS, SOR, SoS of opponents (all .500+ win seasons are not equal), quality wins, etc.

Michigan looks great, but remains the biggest unknown in CFB. On the road vs PSU will be their first decent opponent, even if PSU had a bit of a home struggle win vs Indiana.

This is what the CFP committee is supposed to be doing. It's a deep dive into the stats and outcomes. And, a consistent application of a voting philosophy across the board which is absent. But, humans are inherently bias and inconsistent.

gMAC was right to call them out the other day. You can't say tOSU deserves #1 over UGA based on resume and then make Oregon the highest rated 1-loss team over UTx, Bama, Ole Miss, PSU in that order based on eye test.

It's why the BCS was a preferred method. Weight the human polls, but include a more objective assessment through computer models. With the advancements in AI and transparency in the algorithms, it seems a no brainer to go back to a blended approach of humans and computers.

This.

It should be Texas, Alabama, and Oregon instead of Oregon, Texas, and Alabama.

That one got dicey there for a minute. We ran the ball very well. And, Murphy (backup QB) was good until he wasn’t.

Because CFB uses a completely subjective methodology to rank teams using often uninformed and sometimes biased voters.

It’s a horrible system even compared to CBB which has things like quadrant wins and SOS.

There is absolutely no metric by which Oregon is justified being ranked ahead of Texas or Bama.

It’s all just subjective voters using emotion to make decisions.

My point is that everyone saw that and thought “Haha here’s comes same old Texas again!” whereas I saw that and was like “They just beat a top 10 FEI team on the road without their starting QB”.

Klieman is not getting near enough respect for what he’s doing in Manhattan, KS because that’s not even a top 40 roster talent wise. Outside of Elko at Duke I’m not sure anyone in the country is doing more with less.

Also, I think Ole Miss is 5 even if you count Mercer

1. Mercer
2. Tulane
3. GA Tech
4. LSU
5. A&M

Appreciate that. Yeah, that’s the kind of game we have lost more times than won recently. It also shows why I think Sark’s built a roster than can consistently compete at a high level in the SEC.

LSU has 3 losses and is not a playoff contender.

The Subject states that the list is regarding playoff contenders, hence the list is sans LSU.

See how that works ?
