While anything can happen, I feel like UGA's schedule is set up to make that unlikely. Teams like UGA with lots of talent but needing new talent to step in to fill gaps for guys leaving tend to be most vulnerable in the first part of the season.

As the season gets closer to the end when teams have more injuries piled up and teams have had time for inexperienced players to gain playing time... talent is more likely to win out.

UGA plays UT in their second to last game of the year. They're not playing a new starter at QB... they'll be playing a guy with 10 starts under his belt.

As a UGA fan, I'm more worried about SC in week 3 after two cupcakes, even though it's in Athens or @Auburn at the end of september. First SEC opponent and first SEC road game are much more of a worry than a late season opponent who is inferior in talent. There's much more of a chance of new player miscues.

They take a step back. System coaches always tend to decline in the SEC. DC’s and athletes are too good to maintain success.

Plus, Heupel erodes the defensive side of the ball over time. Look at the massive jump in points and yards allowed from 2018-20 at UCF.

SC is definitely a very dangerous game for you this year.

Can your OL deal with our front 7, that was the issue last year. If you say yes, please explain why.

Other teams run very similar systems, Heupel just seems to have perfected it.

Heupel said his biggest goal this off season was to get the defense at a similar caliber as the offense. It will never happen stat wise because of what you just said, but we had a few games last year including Clemson where the defense flashed signs of potential greatness. Need more jimmies and joes still though on that side of the ball.

Jerome Carvin and Darnell Wright are huge losses to the NFL but we hit the transfer portal hard and snagged a few gems.

Oline has done nothing but improve under Josh's tenure so I'm not expecting a huge drop off. UGA's defensive line was elite last year but our oline was much much better than they showed.

Home field advantage will be huge for this team imo.

We greatly exceeded expectations last year. Considering where we were with Pruitt, Butch and Dools not too long ago, it was an amazing season.

Until Huepel shows he can field a defense Tennessee isn’t beating UGA.

Fair enough. First real test will obviously be against the gators on the road. If we win that game comfortably like we should on paper, the Fulmer curse will finally be over. Never an easy place to play though. We could field a super bowl level team and still struggle against UF it seems.

I'm probably more worried about our offensive line than WRs tbh

Well that sure seems like a recipe for beating UGA. You couldn't block us last year and you couldn't get open...

But this year you will magically block us with a worse O-Line and catch more passes with less stud WRs.

The East will be wrapped up well before UGA arrives in Knoxville.

We couldn't block you mostly because they shite their pants in Athens. You really think your dline was that much better than them? We greatly underperformed that game. False starts left and right as well.

That won't happen in Neyland. Mark my words. They also shite the bed on the road against SC as well.

This, I think.

Milton qualifies on the athletic front, …. but it remains how he will read SEC caliber D’s … and how he will produce under relentless pressure.

I suspect that UT’s O-line will need to improve considerably in order for that to happen

Starting early this year. In ‘22 after UT squeaked by Bama every hillbilly was 100% certain UT was going to throttle UGA. For several weeks we heard this nonstop. Now, 7 months later it begins again. Zero perspective. Zero circumspection.

So for all those that foolishly think CFB is better when UT is good….FU

Yes, our DLine was that much better. I won't be mean to you and insult you, but I will explain why the cards are stacked against UT.
This past season, we had lost a ton of talent of our D to the NFL and still overpowered your O. This season, we return 7 starters on D. Is there any reason to think our D is not going to be even better?
UT has not recruited anywhere near the leve UGA has. 247's website did a composite average recruiting rankings over the last 5 years for every team in the country...
Bama was ranked #1, UGA #2. LSU was the next SEC team coming in at #7. UT was all the way down at #17, even below Florida and Auburn. This just means that we have been stockpiling more talent. UT lacks the talent and depth to beat UGA. That might change over a longer period of time, but right now, you can't just make a team be equal to another team in talent over night.
You beat Bama last season, but that Bama team had some serious chemistry problems on D. UGA does not have that. We have fielded the best D in the country 2 straight years.

No one is bowing down and kissing your entitled acting asses.

UGA fans are becoming even more arrogant than Bama fans recently.

Can't wait for you leg humpers to come to Neyland this year.

I was in Athens last year for the game and it was a pretty underwhelming game day experience. Nice town overall but very overrated tailgating scene and stadium.
