That’s the case 90% of the time a coach is fired.

Why is this news to people?
If Jimbo takes the full buyout he won’t coach again for 6-8 years.
At that point he’s out of the game.

No way in hell his agent allowed that clause to be written in. Absurd

A&M is on pace for 8 wins capped by the annual beat down of BK

Per my sources, Jimbo is accepting a lower buyout in order to avoid getting smoked by LSU.

History and talent level would disagree with you

Jimbo has been out of the game. He's the only one who doesn't realize it.

LOL. In this day and age, that is corporate speak for being fired.

What’s there to negotiate? Isn’t the money in Jimbo’s contract guaranteed?
Posted on 11/12/23 at 11:21 am to Aggie in TN
Why would he negotiate a buyout?
He can take his 70M+ and get a job next year and the Aggies still have to pay his full buyout. There is no offsetting clause in his contract.

I do not want this idea to be real.
What does he have to negotiate? A cost of living adjustment tied to inflation.

I'm certain the negotiation went about like Coach O's
quote:
“They said, ‘Coach, You got $17.1 million dollars on your contract, we gon’ give it to ya.’
And I said, ‘when you want me to leave, and what door you want me out of, brother?’”

Jimbo has negotiated to allow A&M to pay his buyout in full across 8 years

I'm pretty sure a payout over time was in his contract.

I believe he is owed his entire buyout even if he takes another job.
