They don't mention that LSU has played in 3 National Championship games and won 2 since ND last won a title.

Fromm said it clicked for him after that game (in which he missed several throws) and in general that game had several mistakes by Georgia, which was only repeated in one game. Really, it's saying something that Notre Dame didn't win that one with the mistakes Georgia made (15 yard penalties, turnovers).
Yes, Notre Dame was the lucky team. I know it's cute to compare, and LSU fans are going to, but a matchup that was way back in September doesn't really matter anymore.
