The Dame could get rid of Rice and Wisconsin next year and have 8 ACC conference games, keeping their MSU and USC games. Make it to a title game and get in if need be.

I agree completely. If they were going to do a playoff at all it should’ve stopped at 4. It just doesn’t work with so many different conferences, schedule strength, and alignment. It will have to implode completely to be fixed. We aren’t there quite yet.

Notre Dame declined all bowl invites until they started counting for national championships in the 1960s.
They are basically back to being exhibition games.
