Man really? Padre? You’re talking about the brown sand beach 200 yards from the border? He said tourism, not college kids with raider rash. I grew up in Houston and I can tell you, nobody visits if they are from east of the Trinity River. They go to Destin, orange beach or further.

The hill country is nice, but when the lakes aren’t dry, they’re fun. I used to keep my boat at the marina in lake Travis by the school and but we rarely went because bee cave is about all there is to do. Again, grew up in Texas, went to school at Bama and live in Florida. I’d never go back

California does this all the time.

Another place I have no interest in visiting. However, California > Missouri

Don't flatter yourself

Plenty of things to do, it just depends on what you want to do and know where to go.

Those ads are likely targeted and Google/ATT/whoever is just trying to capitalize on your obsessions with Miz and TX.

Missouri honestly isn’t that bad.

I've had a good time at Lake of the Ozarks but it's not significantly different from a hundred other lake "resort" spots. Fun if you're in the area but not worth travelling for.

What would any Aggie know about a woman? Seems your tastes don’t run that way.

Not many rednecks in Georgia nowadays. If you actually come across one he is probably a transplant from Tennessee or Missouri.

Just admit you didn't understand what he meant by "Mexican national."

Yeah, the beaches aren’t nice an along Texas gulf coast nice due to the Mississippi River mud clogging up everything. But down on S. Padre the water is much cleaner. The sand is still inferior.

Houston folks go to Destin more often then not, because if you’re already driving 6 hours for S. Padre... Might as well just tack on a few more for the white sand.

But don’t forget about Colorado. That’s just an extension of Texas now with everyone escaping the heat in the summer.

That’s the joke now. Live in Texas for the good paying jobs and no state income tax. And the airport can take you anywhere you want!
